Hey guys. See attached. This is on the rear window. I don't know when it happened but it's been at least several weeks now. Car's a 2017 CPO with about 20K miles. Would this be covered under warranty? Is it worth the effort? I don't care about it now, but i will care if it gets worse and the window falls off or it develops into an actual tear. Thoughts?

If you can prove a faulty/ deteriorating material or a damage related to the manufacturing process then yes.

Well that's the challenge, isn't it? I know that it wasn't done by me. I haven't purposefully cut it nor have I had any accidents near that area of the car to say I maybe bumped it with something sharp. So it's either the mechanism or accidentally coming into contact with something during normal operation. That shouldn't have happened.

:crying:

I guess it wasn’t always there? Have a look at the corresponding part of the roof which folds onto that part and feel through the fabric for sharp edges as it folds down. There might be a rivet end trapped in your roof causing it.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try to feel around the ridges for something sharp.

Ford is refusing to cover it under warranty.

Image "IMG_5681" shows a tear in the Convertible Top near the edge of the back window glass. This is the result of contact with a sharp or otherwise abrasive object which has compromised the integrity of the material. As this concern is the result of outside source damage and not a defect in the material, replacement of the Convertible Top Assy w/Glass (7652700) is not warrantable.
