Went to a dealer today to check the status of my mustang and figured I might just order some roush parts to get them installed when picking up. A mechanic says that they have a 2014 brand new roush CAI on order and the customer cancelled his order. I can have it installed for free and save 50 bucks.

Just wondering if it will fit?

2014 wont fit as stock air box assembly is not same.

I still wonder if the new stock air box design is causing restriction in air flow into engine and hence 300hp Vs 305hp in 2015 models.

Without doing thorough research, I ordered an Airaid CAI for the 2011-2014 to install on my 2016 3.7. I thought the same engine and all would be a direct replacement. It wasn't the Airaid for the 2014 did not fit my 2016.

Interestingly, the outer tube from the 11-14 Airaid that goes into the airbox was a smaller diameter meaning it slid into the inside of 2015-2017 stock airbox inlet. I would have made it fit if I could. The bend had too much radius and too much curve and too little distance to overcome. No way it was going to fit and if I rigged something up it was going to be obviously restricted from the stock. The stock 15-17 outlet tube (from outside air to filtered air into duct to engine) is a greater diameter than the 11-14 Airaid attachment could accomodate.
