With the end in sight for the Hellcats, how much longer will the GT500 hold on.

Global Mustang buyers are completely different demographic than majority of N. American buyers.

They speak 2-4 language fluently, travel often, likely have post graduate degrees, have 6-8 figure income, own 2 plus homes, are multi car owners paying cash.
Not cool claiming global buyers are slow learners. In the US, even kids are smart enough to buy a Mustang even before they're wealthy.

I agree with you 100%. The question is what will power the S650 generation GT500?
Maybe the evolution goes small displacement turbo, hybrid, full EV?

The gen 4 coyote is already in the F150's. Basically ford moved the oil pump off of the crank snout and put in the oil pan and it now chain driven. Don't know what else was done but the oil pump was the major change.

That's not the gen 4 Coyote. More of a gen 3.5.

Chain drive or gear drive would make sense for an oil pump… however Ford decided to use belt drive. I kid you not.

Following this thread and reading the tea leaves so to speak… I believe our current s550 platform may be the pinnacle of n/a, v8, manual tranny, non-hybrid Mustangs. Maybe I am wrong and the s650 GT will be a 500hp, 300lb lighter, improved version of our current platform. Yep I am dreaming, lol. Guess I will take really good care of my 18 GT convertible for now and hope.

I'm surprised they haven't went to all aluminum bodies yet.

Makes perfect sense. Pieces of a failed belt wouldn't do as much damage as pieces of a chain bouncing around until the engine froze.

Thats what im thinking. If this turns out to be the last supercharged V8 GT500 prices are likely to go up the same way the 13/14 spiked when the current car was announced to be DCT only. Very little info on the S650 platform has been release dispite the fact that its slated to be a 2023 model.

Don't matter, the new epa cafe regulations, Ford as a mostly truck and big suv and v8 pony car brand will never comply to.
YOU will see a turbo 4 f-150 truck and more and more Stangs will be 4 bangers. They will be forced to build and sell 15-20 4 banger stangs for every ONE v8 Stang produced.
Unless they bring back a small economy car and build it right and to last, and it sells like hotcakes, meaning it can't be a 28-36k pos.
If the automakers were smart, they all get together and tell the epa to duck off.
or....... or somehow we vote another conservative (no political stand here please) into office and they, again force the EPA to take a back seat. Could happen ya know.

If the S650 takes design queus from the Mach E, like some have suggested, I think that will also cause the prices to go higher...
