Overall the cabin is quiet and does an excellent job of blocking outside noise.
BUT, when I hit around 70klm/hr (~45 miles) I get whistle coming from the passenger side. It's elevated my OCD and I can find where it's coming from. It sounds like it's coming from the passenger side near the mirror.
I should be able to find it this weekend with my wife in the car but during the week I'm the only one in the car... it's driving me nuts.

Anyone else getting this?

My wife's 11 explorer had this issue and there was a subsequent recall. I'm sure Ford will get it fixed before too long

Not finding that in mine EB...gotta be something out of a tad bit of alignment...
I"m sure you've checked all your door gaskets....hmmm...could it be the magical faux engine noise acting up??? I think not!

Where's Click and Clack when you need them....well maybe just Click now.

Could there be something in the track where the window seats in along the side or top?

I've looked at all the gaskets and nothing seems out of the norm. I've looked over everything I can think of.

My 11 driver side let's wind in sometimes not a whistle noise though. Check the bottom corner of where the window meets the door from the inside

Tried that. Now that I know it's there I can hear it through anything.

Pull the door panel and put tape over the holes and bolts in the shark-fin. The exterior mirror door gasket seal does not seal. You're hearing air-leakage through those holes.

Deciding...
that would annoy the shit out of me.

Im hoping the 2015 is quieter than the previous generation. One big thing for the previous generation was refinement and sound deadening. hope they didnt go backwards.

The 2015 is several DbA quieter than the S197 platform. That's why you now hear the small windnoise issues, last year you wouldn't have heard it over the road rumble and wind rush.

what\where is this shark-fin? Any way to get at it without taking the door panel off?

I had my wife drive on the highway while I tried isolating the wind noise on the passenger side. It was surprisingly hard to isolate. The whole time i thought it was coming in the 3 part corner of door, window, a-pillar. I think I was wrong, I think it's coming from the windshield. At high speed it could be a tiny hole but enough to be annoying.

I assume it's a warranty issue. No water leak, just wind. I wish I could find the exact spot so I can seal it.

There was an issue with the robots at the factory missing some windshield adhesive. Take it to the dealer and they will remove the windshield and reseal it.

Turn your AC on high, take a spray bottle with water and an ounce of dishwash soap and spray around the area. If it leaks it will blow bubbles.
