* I am assuming that most reading this will be aware of the 10 hp decrease of the USDM cars for 2022 *

Initially I had assumed the 10 hp loss would just narrow the margin between the USDM and export cars and that our 'euro' outputs wouldn't be affected, however this article suggests differently :

Extract "This applies to all markets" :

Anyone heard anything about this officially ?

I'm not sure we can trust the brochure, last time I looked it was still showing the Gen 2 engine in the 18+ facelift cars ...

Are US Mustangs being fitted with a GPF ?
On the Gen2 the power loss was from the headers, I assume the gen3 is down to the headers and EU GPF ?

No GPF's.

I believe it is to do with emissions and a change to the the air box / throttle elbow / air flow sensor area ?

When asked what exactly was changed on the engine to meet these requirements, a Ford spokesperson clarified, “For 2022, the Mustang’s 5.0-liter V8 engine’s hydrocarbon traps were modified, with a new mass airflow sensor location and updated engine calibration.”
Some generic links about the change in the US :

The '22MY configurator is now live. Still shows the pre-'18 engine photo, although it still has it rated at 450ps (460ps Mach 1).

GT is auto only, although the Mach 1 is available as both an auto or manual.

Not sure why its allowing you to configure the Mach 1 as, so I'm led to believe, the only Mach 1s for '22 will be those customers that had their '21 order cancelled. Or perhaps that's now changed.

Just wish we had the option of the California Special like our Australian friends!
