100%. "For the sake of discussion". Ironically we're on a discussion forum and someone will say it's nonsense
My point exactly.

For Christ sake the mustang is a GT car... Forget the pony car nonsense.. forget the muscle car nonsense.. and forget the sports car nonsense..

No need to impose an extra price increase on everyone else because our egos can't withstand losing to a camaro. Ford should just offer a power increase option with a cheap run of the mill supercharger from roush... Problem solved
Till the OPGs shatter.

I'd like to see multiple videos of stock for stock/bolt on SS vs GT races where the SS dominates. They aren't out there. Not roll races or street stuff. Races on a track. They're difficult/impossible to find. Yet you can go into the 'Mustang versus' and dragstrip sections here and watch bluebeastsrt and his wife beating up on everything and anything in a bolt-on/tuned GT.

I'm not saying the GT is faster, but you would think that one of the oldest car rivalries in history would be producing a ton of legit video in a world where we record video of what we eat for dinner.
I think you'd be hard pressed to find those types of videos, so one may have to rely on mag tests for a bit.

Because he's trying to prove his point that the GT350 is junk:lol:
I'll put my flamesuit on here, but if you are ar the drag strip and worried about your GT350's performance in a straight line beyond having fun, you bought the wrong car. The GT350 is not about the numbers, neither at the strip or the track. It still produces awesome lap times, but it's a lot more about the enjoyment of driving than pure speed.
Sadly, that logic doesn't seem to be understood by many here
People will always compare things, especially in a forum.

A discussion shouldn't get everyone so heated. It's just the Internet. Enjoy your cars.

But yet you think weight reduction is cheap? I have a 2016 GT350 track pack. I've spent over $22000.00 on weight reduction mods, including suspension mods.
The wheels and tires were $7700 and saved 52 pounds total.
The rear seat delete was $1800 and saved 32 pounds total.
The Reacro profi spa carbon seats were $4800 and saved 77 pounds total.
The DSS carbon driveshaft was $1100 and saved 10 pounds total.
The ARH exhaust was $1500 and saved 20 pounds total.
Total of 191 pounds.

Good luck to you if you think fords gonna drop over 50 pounds off the car for free.

To be fair for an American v8 it is low on tq, not compared to othe v8s like the 455 italia, and prior gen r8, but for an American it's a little low. All in all its a bad ass engine that is absolutely awesome, but I think everyone agrees the voodoo needs about 40 to 50 more ft lbs to be truly amazingness. Just my 2 cents
Ok, this ended up being a little bit of a Voodoo review from a non-track driver just enjoying the car. Don't really care to get into any disputes, just offering another point of view.

Disagree with quoted statement. I don't notice the dyno dip everyone knows about in 1st gear. It pulls hard and revs stupid fast. Then, you're already above it shifting anyway. I do notice it in 2nd gear up when at those lower rpms, but that's the best part. IMO, the Voodoo is most fun at slow roll, 2nd gear and then WOT. Yes, power is down at beginning, but the audible build up is flat awesome! The thing makes low bass noises echoing off of anything near it in that scenario. You have enough time to think... something's about to happen... and then 4K rpms hit and bye, bye!

I'm not sure if you working on it translates into driving it much. If it does, and you still think it isn't special or needs something more, I won't argue it as you have different expecations than I.

But for anyone on the fence, it is stupid fun and laughable at times. Anyone trying to replicate the experience with Coyote, sorry, you can't. You can raise your rev-limiters to near 8K, still won't be the same. IMO, the FPC is no-joke, it's a completely different experience, sound and some of the little things like the annyoing dash vibrations/resonances some have reported. It is not smooth like the Coyote.

Finally, my last observation is the engine has 3 characters to it, all in a single gear shift:
1. 1500 to 3500 rpm is muscle car sound.
2. 3500 to 6000 is where I think it sounds best, and power is hitting you hard now. This is where the FPC starts to really become noticably different spinning from CPC. It's humming, changing tones, vibrating, resonating, etc.
3. 6000 to 8250, vibrations go away, car sounds like flat race car and is still pulling like crazy.

Meh I don't care... Just buy a supercharger... Low end torque issue fixed
Lol ur not wrong but I've tip toed down the path of aftermarket power adders before on my 06, 3 blown motors and a blown tranny. I'm an na guy since then or factory power adder only. I don't add or increase boost anymore.

Those Lightning lap times are a hoax.
Why should we take away the R's standards (wheels, aero, weight?) that's how the R is made and sold by the factory. The Z28 has Z28 only specific parts and pieces. weight savings, aero, and carbon ceramic brakes, engine, trans, light weight glass etc. Non of the Z28 advantages are shared with the 1le. It's not like the R has a hp or tq advantage over the non R. The difference between the R and track pack are a lot less then that of the 1le and Z28. The difference between the R and track pack are the magride, rear sway bar, wheels and tires, and splitter and spoiler. The Z28 to R Motortrend comparison was fair and the Z28 was beat in all categories. Same day. Same track. Same driver.
The lightning laps didn't do that at all. Lightning lap times are a joke.
I just want to point out, not saying u fall in either category but car and driver usually leans more toward neutral maybe a slight bias toward ford and motor trend is heavilly toward chevy. I don't think the lightning lap is a hoax, I don't thing it is the most acurate representation because we dont know how consistant the drivers are, however it is one of the best representations of track comparisons we have available. That being said Motor trend saying the R is better is a huge deal.

Just my 2 cents

I'm not saying the gt350 isn't fun or fast, I was just speculating that on this motor and the coyote, they are both low on torque compared to other American v8s. It would be nice to see a 10 to 15 % increase on both. That is all.

You can not have lighting laps on different cars with different drivers. That's lame.
Make it equal. At least use the same damn driver on the same track.

Simple really, all Ford has to do is make the motors as big as the Chevy motors, then torque would be comparable.
5 liters vs 6.2 liters is huge.
Until then, apples to oranges comparison.
