I wanted to know if my ride comfort will get harder if I go from the stock 18 inch rims to aftermarket 20 inch rims. I have a 2018 base 300a GT

How much it will change sort of depends on the weight of your new wheels versus the weight of the old 18" wheels, but the tire sidewall difference will be felt, regardless.

I was interested in the Vossen HF2s (20 inch rims maybe either the 9.5 in or the 10 in wheel). I don't know what the base 18 inch rim weighs

The comfort does get harder if nothing else changes other than wheels and tires. Only you can determine if it changes enough to matter to you.

So will a wider width tire help retain some comfort or keep it near the same?

It is usually the sidewall aspect and the tire compound that make the biggest difference.

Yes, but it depends a lot on your tire choices.
I went from the stock 18s to 20s with tires that are a little taller than stock. I noticed a difference, mostly on the reflectors on the road or really bad roads. I get a vibration in my phone mount I didn't get with the 18s. Otherwise its not really that noticeable.

My wife noticed no difference in the ride quality when I swapped wheels and she's usually the first to get on my case about that stuff when I modify a car.
