Will a dead key fob battery cause car to not start?

Like the title says. is it possible for a dead or dying keyfob battery to cause the car to not start?

does the starter turn over the engine? If not, you need to put the dead fob in the compartment that's under the cup holder rubber mat

The cars been yelling at me for a bit tonreplace the fob battery and this morning i went to start the car. It did turn over then killed itself took 4 times to get it to start. Earlier it wouldnt even turn over. I cleaned the fob casing out decent and it turned over. Has started 3 times since. Just trying to see if i need a new car batter or if the fob is the culprit. Im on the original battery still(fob amd car)

I wold say that battery is 4 years old and if you are having issues and the car even told you to change the battery the simplest sulotuion would be to um change the battery
