I disagree. I think they look great and you dont need a drag car to have a need for a taller, stickier tire.
I have as much tire as possible for my setup. Literally going from a 275/35/20 to 275/40/20 will scrape my front fender.

I love how the car looks, it's not slammed but it's tight.

And yes, because I don't want to run an R compound the taller tire works for my needs. Now admittedly, perhaps I WOULD run a shorter tire with an R compound because the car in theory should accelerate faster and feel lighter in every way, but I've tested the performance between a 26.7 and 28.7 and it's not so huge to worry about.

I don't have a totally fair comparison because I changed tuners when I changed tire size, but I'm actually running better roll race times on the taller tires ...

I was strictly talking about rear setup. My rear I put 305 ET street R. Dead hooks. and yes I need that tire.... At 1000 ish wheel hp drag radials were difficult to launch. Now at 1296 whp, nothing but that unless I want to spin at 90

I know, I was just rambling about why I run a taller tire too 🙂

I've only put down about 700whp, we have completely different needs. You need way more tire than me 😁

For sure will fit on an 11.5 wide wheel, but as some mentioned, not sure about the clearance. I have a GT, so I don't think they have the same fitment.

I run a 325-30-R20 on the rear & 325-25-R20 on the front on my 2020 CFTP GT500 Mustang!!!

Goodyear Eagle F1 325/30/19 on my 350R (CF rims) no rubbing, but a tad more poke than some would like 😬

@Snake Oiler the photo here shows the 19" CF wheels. If you're going with the GT500 set on your 350, expect more poke. The GT500 wheels stick out much more regardless of tire size.

Tony, got it - thanks! I saw a separate (2020?) thread on Shelby doing a widebody conversion and it looked pretty darn good. It also permitted 355s (on 21" rims). Accordingly, I may send my 350 to Shelby America as part of a brake/rim/tire upgrade trip.
Thanks for the rim/tire feedback....I just saw this old widebody thread and it opens up a "more rubber on pavement" option for me. Cheers.

That number is downright scary, Chris..talk about a handful!
The number is up there. However, I will say that the car is setup so well and is so smooth you almost don't realize the power level... Until you trap 156. LOL

Ford did a fine job of controlling the power in the S550 500's for sure so I'm not surprised that your girl disguises herself most of the time as well BUT 156! DAMN that's haulin' the mail!

Very 1970's look with the tall rear tires, but I'll take a hard pass on it. I went with a tire that's very slightly smaller in overall diameter (not enough to make a difference), because I'd rather it be slightly smaller than slightly larger.... Also because you're limited on size options for 325/19's :)

IMO, nobody needs wider than a 325 for a street car... Even 325's has drawbacks over a sightly skinnier tire for street usage. Starting with weight, but also more road noise and slightly harsher ride. Worth it for a non-daily driver, but not sure I'd do it on a daily.

My point of replying was to say -- you don't need a widebody to run 325's in the back... and IMO anything over 285's up front is dangerous for street use.

Why dangerous up front?

My 350 has 852rwhp and the 305s are just inadequate. As to the weight, I'm upgrading to forged Mg rims, lightweight ceramic brakes, lighter clutch flywheel, & a CF driveshaft soooo....we'll be good. As to tramlining, that will be addressed with the revised rims and tire combo coming (you may already know 350s tramline from the factory so my mods will reduce or eliminate it). To your width point, the car is only going to gain Hp going forward so at a minimum, 325s or perhaps 345s will be in order but for the latter, it will need a WB to accomodate.....I'll think on it ....I'm just not a fan of the potential months long wait time for WB completion). Cheers.
