I'm looking to replace my OEM 31 lbs GT350 rims with either forged magnesium or CF and was curious if the GT500 CF stock rears accomodate a 325 width. Anyone know? Thanks much.

Forgive my ignorance, but what's the wheel size and width?

They'll fit easy on the 11.5 inch wheel, not sure about clearance for rubbing and stuff

For sure will fit on an 11.5 wide wheel, but as some mentioned, not sure about the clearance. I have a GT, so I don't think they have the same fitment.

This is good info but your point wrt rubbing is also key. Perhaps a GT500 (CF rim optioned) owner can confirm if the 325s have any chassis rubbing issues (I could be wrong, but I don't think there is any GT500 to GT350 rear chassis fitment differences so if a GT500 20x11.5 wearing 325s "fits", they should also fit my GT350)?
Again, thanks to all for the input thus far - appreciated.

Look up the actual dimensions on the tires you are looking to buy. a 325 is not a uniform size across the manufacturers. That said, I would imagine just about any 325 would "fit" on an 11.5" wheel.

That should help narrow down how wide of rubber you want. As to getting a wider tire, you really aren't gaining anything, and arguably harming the handling characteristics of the car.

Thanks for top down pic. That is entirely acceptable IMHO.....does not poke out too much. Exactly what I was looking for per my question. Cool......325s will help a bit with acceleration traction.

325's will fit fine. I went from 315 to 325 on mine. the 315 looked a tad stretched while the 325 make the sidewall perfectly vertical IMHO.

Yup, agree in the non width uniformity amongst tires. However, for primarily street use, the additional ~1.6" net rubber contact patch will help under hard acceleration.....the car has 852 rwhp. I'll also be dropping ~115 lbs in rotational mass with the replacement rims and carbon brakes as part of its 'diet" so the car's overall performance should improve a bit. Have a good W/E Kyle - appreciated your feedback.

Also keep in mind tire diameter as well. I was running into traction problems on my whipple set up, mostly due to not wanting to run an R Compound. I was on 325/30/19, and opted for 315/35/20, which is a 2" difference in height. I can almost hook 2nd gear on the taller tires where I could only dream of that with the 325s lol.

Taller tire hook much better and reduce the gear ratio some.
You can determine the size difference between the shorter and taller tire to see what percentage they change.

Taller tire negatively affects gear ratio for power and acceleration. Also taller looks dumb unless you're building a drag car.

I disagree. I think they look great and you dont need a drag car to have a need for a taller, stickier tire.
