why does everyone want to spin the coyote up to 8000 plus?

The redline on most cars is 1000 RPM beyond when peak power is made. Why?
With most cars shifting 500 to 1000 rpm past peak power is faster. More area under the curve, and taking advantage of the higher torque multiplication in the lower gear. If it saves a shift or two, even better.

K so I did the math, based on MY dyno sheet.
Here's my MAXIMUM acceleration RPM w/ 15-17 MT82 assuming infinite traction
and going in a straight line:

Shift @ rpm (x1000) 1st - 5th gear 7.95 / 7.85 / 7.50 / 7.60 / 7.30 so at the most, 650 rpm beyond PEAK HP. Is all about maximizing torque.

That link you provided has the wrong torque curve. I inputted the torque numbers from the dyno sheet on page 1. I also used the 6R80 gear ratios.

It says to shift at 7800 in each gear.

I put in the numbers from the dyno. I don't know where the default numbers come from. And the -D4 and 3.73 so obviously we'll get different numbers given different transmissions.

since when? that's weak-ass torque range. at 6000 the HP goes flat. This calculator says 7k but anywhere between 6500 and 7000 is good. I'm assuming MT82-D4 and 3.73 gears
https://glennmessersmith.com/shiftpt.html#data

As long as the next gear selected drops your RPMs to >4300 you're good.
According to your link I should shift at 8k :inspect:

Or i filled it out wrong??

wow I started a cool thread!! The tech is awesome. So the basic idea is launch at the maximum torque point and shift at peak HP range where the drop doesn’t go lower than the peak?

So is the GT350 intake manifold a good swap or not?

on a 2018? I personally say no. Though if you disable the rev-limiter so you can spin to 8K or more, then yes there probably is some merit to it.

28.4" wheels? I think I used 27. but either way ~7 grand +/- is good enough IMO
According to what I can find, 305/35-20 is suppose to be 28.4” diamete. I haven’t gone out and measured them. Just went off tirerack just now on some pilot 4s and discount on the G2’s both give the same diameter

Yes sir you shift at a high enough RPM where your still making more than peak engine torque at the flywheel. So if your engine makes 420 ft-pounds and you shift say at 7500 when the engine is making 290 ft-lbs, take the gear ratio say 1.5:1 multiply by 290ft-lbs. So that would be 1.5*290 = 435ft-lbs so you are still accelerating until it drops below peak. Math never lies haha.

So is the GT350 intake manifold a good swap or not?
Best manny out there. swap away.

And if you want to get even deeper, you calculate and average out the hp in your range.

For example, if you shift at 7500 and it drops you to 5000 in the next gear, then find out what the average hp is in that range. Next you calculate the average hp if you were to shift at 7600 and drop you to 5100 in the next gear. If the average hp in that range is higher than the previous range, it's going to be better for acceleration.

You do that incrementally until you get to a point where you find the RPM range with the highest average hp which will provide you with the best acceleration.

What about on my old 2016?
