Mine shifts around 7600-7700 with the Lund tune. But it’s still fun to know it can go higher

Right here is what I'm talking about. Peak power is 7100 ish, so shift at 7500 and you should stay just about the peak power range. I continually see guys commenting about moving the rev limiter and shifting at 8500.

Peak power at 7000 when I shift I fall from 7500 to 6500 and stay at peak power for longer time with the 10speed
That’s same with me 7500-7600 drops to 6400-6500 range. People do not get the wot shifts and momentum the motor spinning that high creates at the shift where the car accelerates harder on each shift. Lol. Non a10 people...

and shifting at 8500.
Then those people have zero clue on calculating shift points and will be moocho slower with stock coyote cams.

Boosted cars keep making more power and dont really drop off at all , I plan on shifting at like 7900 or 8000 when I get my whipple on

N/A I shift at 7500 usually. Would probably rev it higher if I had a 6 speed

So in laymen’s terms but based on real numbers and maths etc, what’s the best RPM to shift a standard gen 3 yote on a MT82-D4 ?

Cheers,

I shift mine at about 7800. It peaked power on the dyno @ 7400 but carried to 8k without dropping like a rock and was actually faster at the track by shifting just before 8 compared to 7500 (not huge gains by any means, but it averaged a bit faster). I have a gt350 mani/tb and intake cams.

see the URL I posted. 7000 +/- 300. But dyno your car and see how and where it produces good twist.

Take it to the track and experiment. Only way to know for sure. Start around 7200 and go up from there. It will slow down when you have gone too far.
When talking manuals...there’s as much question about how quickly you are shifting as there is where to shift 😉

my blown 15 would shift at 7800. The logs said it was making power so why not spin it to that point?

There’s no reason to short shift the Coyote.
The Coyote motors are like V8 Hayabusas. Their VE is around 110% and they’re designed to operated in the upper RPM range.

not short shift, when the cams go downhill at 7300, 7500 is a good shift point ;)

I don’t consider the rpm range you stated as a short shift.
8000 rpm hard cutout keeps the motor from bouncing off the rev limiter and allows for a clean shift at the targeted rpm.
