When I was changing my rotors I had to remove the spacers and I noticed that one changed color to a lighter color than the other one.. I cant figure out how or why this would be happen. Both were on the front of the car for about 5000 miles with the oem pp1 rears installed.. Never noticed any issues when they were installed but I was concerned after seeing them different colored so I removed them.

Are they anodized aluminum?
If so, pretty normal
Could be 2 different batches of anodizing and therefore age slightly differently

Same part number on both and they came as a pair. They are anodized billet aluminum. They looked the same when I got them I dont know why one would change and the other one wouldnt kind of weird. Not sure if I should be concerned or not.

Anodising can do some strange shit but black is normally pretty stable.

Has one side been exposed to more of something than the other ? Chemicals, sun etc ?

Even the black one isn’t a great black (anymore) suggesting that the process or dye wasn’t done perfectly or the best quality - that doesn't mean the stuff is bad or unsafe though, the colour is only an aesthetic part of the process :like:

Most of the time, black will turn almost purple-silver due to heat and UV rays. It is just a coating and will not hurt the spacer.

When I ordered my spacers from CJ pony 2 were black and 2 were silver. Same part number.
