As I stated, the biggest hurdles here will be getting all the electronics to sync up and be happy. Ford conveniently has all the software experts and electrical engineers literally on the payroll and makes quick work of that part with zero learning curve.

Want to gut it and make into into a race car? I’m sure that’s no issue for one of “us” knuckle draggers. Want a nice fully functional daily? Good luck.

Also note what he said….they put it in a mustang because that’s the chassis they had “lying around”.

Apparently, this GT350 has a 7.3L Alloy Block prototype with a manual transmission. The bulge on the hood is most likely to cover all the testing equipment attached to the engine.

It would be fantastic if they came up with a conversion kit for the 2018+ S550, using the same aluminum block engine.

The hood bulge only covers the upward tilting throttle body and air intake tubing. Ford just prototyped a new manifold that will make everything fit under the hood.

OK.

I read an article saying it was a 7.3L, but if it's just a manifold, then that makes sense too.

Everything he's saying is 100% spot on. Yolo ftw. Love the no BS approach.
Looks like Ford agreed with me.......Even the exhaust manifolds fit.

You must upgrade the Coyote far too much just in the sense of durability.
Add a blower and related components and boom you're at the same weight
as the 7.3

I keep hearing hints about a alloy block or blocks by the way.......

It is a 7.3 in there. The 7.3 manifold has an high upward tilt for the air intake that required the hood bump. The new 7.3 "swap" manifold will be much more level. This is what's under the dome:

I've noticed that the naysayers have not come back to this thread.........?
Mostly just bored with it. Nothing about the ford “what we had laying around” car and army of engineers involved really changed anything I’ve posted about the 7.3 converted s550. The electronics will still make this impractical for anything but a race car. And when you already have stock long-block coyotes running 8’s and stock long-block predators making well over 1000 rwhp, it’s hard to argue a step backward in technology and airflow is warranted for increased robustness and raw cid.

Oh, and I made a prediction a couple hundred pages ago that the op would never have a running 7.3-converted s550 and I was correct. If he had taken my advice he would have been enjoying a coyote or even supercharged coyote this whole time.
