and this is why someone will do the swap. with these types of numbers, I could really see this replacing the 460 in many engine swap applications.
Agreed. Hell, it's going to replace 351w/stroker swaps as well.

I'm considering for my 71 mach 1 instead of a 460 stoker, and also replacing the 460 stroker in my 82 bronco when the time comes. If it weren't for the fact that I enjoy the simplicity of the carbed 351W and C6 in my daily driver 86 bronco, I'd consider it there too.

Does anyone on this thread remember this is a S550 forum?

Oh never mind, carry on. :like:
yes, but I think we can all agree by now that the only people who will swap a 7.3 into a S550 are those with money to burn and looking for car that ONLY sees the drag strip.

Curious how heavier a 7.3 is compared to a Coyote (both manual or auto). With an iron block, my guess is north of 100, but let's see :).

Apples to apples it was ~130lbs heavier. The CG however should be a fair bit lower though in the 7.3L.

I'm still not impressed/don't get it...FOR A MUSTANG APPLICATION SPECIFICALLY.

But it's nice to see that if someone wanted to supercharge their F250 Tremor for instance, that could be a compelling package. Or if someone wanted to resto-mod an old F100, that would be pretty cool too.

Is the Godzilla cast iron or compacted graphite iron? If it's CGI, that's usually a 20% weight savings but a block housing 7.3L is a LOT of material.

Installing the 7.3 into a Ecoboost Stang would surely add value to that car.
Perhaps so.

But then I really wouldn't want to trust that back-assward rotor venting.

Thought they made rotors for that now that have the "correct" venting
The aftermarket might have something by now, but there's no reason to believe that any particular EB that might receive a 7.3 swap has had any such brake upgrade and every reason to mention it.
