FWIW my RockAuto order of 2 showed up yesterday with no o-rings, trying to contact them to have them send me o-rings is an absolute nightmare so I'll just buy some locally I guess.

Had one filter missing the O rings. I did not see them listed on Rock Auto either. Ordered from Tasca. FT4Z-6840-B

I woulda ordered from somewhere else, but saw multiple people having success with the o-rings from recent RA orders so I gambled and "lost". But at least the o-rings are easy and cheap to source. I just wish contacting RA was easier.

Just received my oil filters and they have black staining on them. I've never seen this before. Are the filters defective or do the newly produced filters look like this?

No wonder they keep going out of stock. Everyone keeps buying 5 or 6 at a time. Reminds me of when people were hoarding toilet paper.Just received my oil filters and they have black staining on them. It looks as if the intent of this thread has been satisfied. Many vendors are carrying the filters again. It seems that the reason rock auto keeps selling out is that people are hoarding them. Its a shame, there is no reason to hoard filters or to buy them if they are not needed.
I am glad I was able to help. I owe a big thanks to my contact at Ford as well as Don at South bay ford.
I will close this thread and ask a simple favor of all. If you don't need a filter, please stop buying them. Let the supply chain settle itself down and let everything go back to normal. I made that call and Ford got it done.
