cut in my carpet below the RH seat to check the VIN number?

Discovered this a few days ago!

Is there anyone else whose carpets have been cut?

I will use double sided tape to hold down which should look much better

early December build
shipped December 23
arrived Melbourne January 26
delivered February 23

Very disappointed

Dealership sales staff were not impressed!

Same here I would guess this is normal you have to be able to see it:shrug:
Looks pretty bad in your photo, but when tucked over with the threads tucked in you can hardly notice it on mine, looks like the mat was made that way not cut afterwards.

Pretty standard on most new cars these days.

Same here. I would imagine if the cut was in the same position on a LHD car then it would be less obvious as passengers tend to have their seats a little more forward, but being a RHD car with the seat further back it is a little more obvious.
Ian.

*sigh* not even trimmed. I guess that's $60k instead of $160k car for you.

I've seen cheaper cars with the same thing neatly designed into the carpet

Mine doesn't flap open like OP. It's barely noticeable on mine...

Yup exact same on mine. Just flap opens like that too. I think i'll get strip of Velcro when I get home to see if it will stay down.

Thanks Sam,

Thats pretty ordinary isn't it.
Will have to try and blend it somehow.
I have a carpet layer friend that can melt these joins together for a seamless look.

Yeh it is. But I wouldn't worry about it really. It's not really visible. However I don't particularly like things flapping about like that, so I'll stick mine down. It's under the driver seat so it's not really in the way if you don't look for it.

Yeah I looked at mine while my seat was all the way back. Rolled it forward and never thought about it again.

Just noticed this on MY20 GT, looks rough as but I just bought some Velcro from Bunnings and it looks at least 80% Better than the pictures provided (mine looked very similar before I added the Velcro)
