I disagree. I hear my diff gears whine all the time. Does it bother me? Now that I know nothing is broken/breaking, no. But I wouldn't qualify it as zero.

On a scale of 0 (no added noise) to 10 (I can't hear my radio on full blast), I'd rate them a 3. Its noticeable at low speed only but minor when you do notice it.
The NVH can vary depending on a particular setup as well. If you have 3.73 gears, that for example, can result in more NVH than 3.55. Auto vs manual, as well as any other mods/differences, can result in different NVH. Perhaps mine aren’t a 0 NVH increase, but not a 3 either. It’s really barely noticeable for me.

Do you know what stiffness the Whiteline inserts are?
85A durometer.

I've been in 2 cars with 'red' pucks and the diff 'sings/howls' at sympathetic frequencies. If I turn my radio way down <5 I can hear mine steady in the background.

@shogun32 do you have Whiteline in your diff? (It isn't completely clear in your post.)
Yes KDT933 in both Mustangs. (one since sold, it's in NJ someplace I reckon. Look for a N4G EB with GT/PP1 wheels)

Not sure why gear ratios would affect NVH. Engagement is engagement as far as gears go as far as I know. The transmission... not how that would affect the differential bushings transmitting more noise from the differential.

I do know that the Torsen is way louder than the 3.15 differential (true-loc or whatever its called). Same exact setup, two different differentials. Old diff was a zero, this one is a 3. Yes gear ratios were also different but I have doubts gear ratio matters. If they made a 3.15 Torsen, i would think it would be just as loud.

They don't, it's just that the only 3.73 (and only Torsen) from the factory is a 3.73 Torsen. That's why the two terms are used interchangeably unless stated otherwise.

pretty sure the 3.55 for the EB/PP manual was a Torsen

Oh, well then I guess being specific about LSD type and gear ratio is much more important, then!
