Hi.
While cleaning my car I noticed drop of white, grease like sticky substance on passenger floor near tunnel and firewall. What is it? I wasn't really able to climb there to check it. Do you have any idea?
I was near "station" with water and I was cleaning parts of car with wet wipe. White stuff wasn't there. Then I moved to vacuuming "station" and notices it.
I think this might be grease from the HVAC doors/motors. But I would like your input.

Um I dunno, but looks like maybe you’re too excited about your Mustang....

:giggle:

Most likely it’s some type of grease from the HVAC, because there’s really no other explanation....

I went into this thread expecting great responses. Sorely disappointed.

Let me get a sample for chemical testing, and report back to you. I'll have the answer in a matter of months, and it probably won't cost you more than a few tens of thousands of dollars.

My new car had an excess of white lithium on the seat rails and as I moved the seats all the way forward and back, got some on the carpet. No clue how it would get that far forward. Maybe your passenger had a ton of extra lotion on their feat? Groceries?

That's what happens when you take it to 8k rpm and have a male passenger.

I have the same stuff on my seat rails and jackscrews. Just got some of it on my floormats today when I was moving the seats around, putting on new seat covers.

You probably touched the seat rail with your rag and picked up some white lithium grease and the rag touched your carpet when wiping the dash.
