But once i pull back into my garage a little after midnight, i legit apologized to it haha.
Apologizing to her made me smile, Sean.

As for the 500, damn sorry she wasn't stock, me thinks you would have kept her otherwise but, there will always be others if the "want" is present.

The DCT is essentially the reason I wanted the GT500, since it makes all that power usable.
Well, almost all the power, Dave, if we could just get the car too hook up for good 60's. <smile>

Camaro? Come on why would he want a GM vehicle LOL. Its not all about performance to a a vehicle. Its about the whole package, the Mustang been selling all these years for a reason. The Mach 1 wins in the looks alone. If we talk about performance only then I would be driving a BMW M2, but then I would get stuck with a ugly vehicle with terrible exhaust.

Edit: I got no hate towards the C7 even though its a GM vehicle
I have no impenetrable brand loyalties or hatreds, though there are of course some brands I like or trust more than others, so I don't really care that it's a GM... I agree about looks (which, in addition to interior comfort and practicality, is probably the primary reason the Mustang destroys the Camaro from a sales perspective), but the ZL1 is no normal Camaro, and looks way sexier than the rest of the lineup. Also the Camaro doesn't just perform better, it's also generally lauded as the more connected and engaging driving experience compared to most "normal" 'Stang trims... Although the Mustang is probably more playful and sounds better.

There seems to be more brand loyalty here than I expected based on the reaction count on your post vs mine lol. But real car enthusiasts should be able to look past brand or image and appreciate what the Camaro has to offer, which is quite a bit.

Anyway, tl;dr -- The ZL1 is a fine car, and seems like a worthwhile thing to consider in this range, no matter how you feel about GM/Camaros in general.

That photo brought back a whole lot of memories from my teenage years, Harry, many thanks. One of the guys I ran with had an orange/white '69 Z28 that looked exactly like this one.

Old, scanned prints can be quite a challenge to color correct and yours was no exception but I think I improved what I believe is a "keeper image" for you and, it will print at 10"x8".

Really appreciate your awesome skills of transforming the old picture of my '68 RS/SS L78 Camaro picture to the above as the new picture looks incredible!

Once the rare and optional 1969 "Chambered Exhaust" was located and installed on my L78 that changed the aural exhaust sound immensely and wished that I had this cool car back.

Not long after the L78 my son and I were able to purchase a '69 1/2 SC/Rambler and we kept that car for some 23 years before selling it to a Viet Nam veteran in Minnesota and went to a great home.

Since I liked the '69 1/2 cars so much I was also able to purchase an A12 Lift Hood Road Runner which was just 1 of 2 very early production A12 Road Runners that had an "H" in the VIN instead of an "M" in the VIN with the other example purchased by a good friend of mine in the Fall of 1969 with his car being 949005 and still in his garage as we speak and my car was 949006.

Both of these very early A12 cars sold new in Calgary, Alberta Canada.

As you mentioned, these old pictures certainly bring back a lot of great memories!!

Glad you liked the edit, Harry, photos from the past can be very important and valuable to some folks, and I think "car guys" are in that group, I know I am. <smile>

Loved the two '69's and that Rambler must have been quite a ride. So, here are my versions of your two classic rods.

Wow, don't know what to say other than I wished that I had your talent and thanks so much for taking time to immensely improve those original photos from many years ago as they are very important memories for an old car guy.

Have many more photos from back in the day but will attempt to post one more picture (hope it comes through) and that is of the engine compartment of my 6 BBL Plymouth Road Runner along with the 5 original Goodyear tires that I spent 3 years collecting for this car.

Not many enthusiasts realize that the A12 Goodyear tires were actually larger than the Hemi cars of the day with those tires being G70-15 Goodyear Polyglas Red Stripe examples.

It took a long time to put a set of 5 together but eventually got it done with most of them being spare tires that I purchased from the trunk of A12 Road Runner and A12 Super Bee owners.

Most of the tires/wheels that I bought came at a cost of up to $3000 each but that included 15 X 6 "H" series wheels that were all correctly date coded along with the chrome lug nuts.

Loved the 4.11:1 Dana rear end and fiberglass lift off hood on these cars and was fortunate to have a 4-speed in this vehicle.

Thanks again!

<smiling> First, thank you for the very generous kudos, Harry, but I thought those two low rez images might be special. As we age, photos like yours become even more special and I am very happy to oblige. <smile>

WOW! You clearly spent a whole lot of time getting them where you want them..impressive.

Meanwhile..

I'm wondering why the engine and tire images were in a PDF file, Harry? No matter, I was able to grab 'em and bring them into PS. Unfortunately, the original images were scanned at a very low resolution so I had to use some magic to enlarge them and here they are. <grin> (Both will print up to 10x8 should you want to do that.)

Absolutely outstanding remakes of my old pictures and could have never figured all this out by myself therefore thanks again for your magic as you made my day!

Being old and a quite unsavvy guy when it comes to stuff like this, I have no idea why these pictures ended up in a PDF file and suggest that I should have maybe stayed in school a lot longer than just Grade 11 in order to learn some decent computer skills like you but school was just not for me.

Back in the 60's all I cared about was quitting school, getting a decent job, working hard, buying a nice Muscle Car, picking up a 12-pack of beer and finding a great girl to share that all with.

You made my morning with that, Harry, and you are most welcome.

Odds are, you or someone else put the prints on a scanner bed and scanned them both together at the same time. Furthermore, scanning software often defaults to PDF because most docs that are scanned are text to be printed (not images,) and the PDF file format was designed just for that purpose.

But you are correct, we all have our own likes, dislikes, and desires. You found what satisfied your brain and that's what counts. For me it was flying so that's the direction my brain headed. FTR, all my PS learning has been OJT, not in a college classroom, but I've found that just like your love of "wrenching," doodling with digital images is a task that satisfies my brain. <smile>

Not a thing wrong with that scenario and I gotta tell ya, reading those words brought back a whole lot of wonderful memories..thanks, amigo.

I keep looking thru AutoTrader and CarGurus. There are currently over 200 GT500s for sale in the US starting at $68K for non-cftp and $85K for CFTP models, so pricing is starting to get more reasonable than it was a year ago.

Maybe once I see the perfect one (PB Color, Recaros, CFTP) for the right price, I'll jump on it.
I seriously looked for 4 months. The lower prices almost always had upwards of 6 owners (yes, one really good deal on a CF car had that many already), accident, higher miles (need tires? those are pushing 3 grand for Cup 2's), too far away for true in person inspection (even in NE, I still had to drive 6.5 hours one way to look at the one I bought), dealer selling? (is sales guy really going to let me rip that thing up to true top end track speeds, to really check it out? private owners typically will), may have been tracked (I am tracking mine, but I'll know I only "lightly abused" it, vs 30 track days already), multiple service entry for the same thing (multiple battery problems, which could have been car just sitting a lot, but not worth the risk to me), not eligible for extended warrantee, on no planet am I not getting 10 year warrantee, if only for just the trans and electronics (Also, I plan keeping until I am dead, so I even thought about buying used DCT as a spare, which are going for about 7 grand right now), possible mods or even tune, so ineligible for warrantee?

One of the lowest price one's on A/T . Everything looks good, right, yet is failed emission @ 16K miles in 2022?? (was it modded and failed visual??, maybe no cats?)

https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for...FA6P8SJ8L5502021&brand=atc&ps=false&make=FORD

Anyway, just a bunch of stuff to consider, when looking at "the cheapest" one's.
