BTW this is what ETCH was saying that I don't disagree with. This is dron jones in another thread talking about racing light to light on the street when someone revs on him at a light. If he does this against a boosted GT he will lose. That is all I was saying. On the street where most people drive their cars 99% of the time cornering performance doesn't matter.

Wait, i will lose a street race that i would never race? :headbonk:

I appreciate the insight. Keep reading through my old posts to find something that actually supports your argument instead of something that proves my point.

So even better, you bought a fun car to drive yet refuse to have any fun in it unless you are on the track? Now I picture an 80 yr old man putting around in his GT350 on the street that has never been over 55 mph. I laugh at people like that who buy cars like this and don't drive them. Maybe you should have bought a Corvette.

GT350 or not everybody in here knows that if another muscle car pulls up on you and revs you are going to do something. Not just let them roll out on your while you putt away like a 80 yr old. You may not do a full run up to 100+ mph but for the first couple gears you are going to have fun. If you say no then you are lying or scared to lose.

My self esteem doesn't come from the ability to impress people with my car or from street racing. But to each their own.

maybe you have to constantly prove yourself to others, but most here don't feel the need to act like a hammerhead on public roads everytime a teenager revs at them.

GT350s are "wanna race, bro?" magnets. stupidity will follow you everywhere in one.

you may want to go back and watch back to the future 2 for an understanding on why always needing to prove something might be detrimental to your person.

There are leaders and followers. If you always want to show off and cant resist any opportunity to try to validate your existence to others...guess which one you are.

IMHO Street Racing is Moronic and dangerous. To many children, cross traffic, soccer moms, Police, and the list goes on. Take it to the track to show what you have, be it the Strip or Road Course.

Speak for yourself, homey.

As fun as it would be, street racing is dangerous. I already knew it, but I dropped to second and nailed the gas one evening recently as it was getting dark, at my daughter's request. It was on a safe straight stretch near my house and I happened to do it just before the last house before it goes to open field on either side. As I passed by I saw the homeowner standing right at the end of the driveway. Had he stepped out just a few feet while I was still going regular speed he'd have never stood a chance after I floored it, and both our lives would have been over. That's the last time I'll nail the gas in the dark.

Crashing isn't my biggest fear if I was street racing. It's pedestrians, and it's the other driver, or a combination of both. The liability with street racing is HUGE just for being involved, whether you're the one who screws up or not. I just enjoy my gas pedal for me only, and for my daughter I suppose..lol. Otherwise it's just nice to carve corners at 90 out in the countryside.

This reminds me of how much REALLY stupid stuff I did in my teens and early 20's behind the wheel of some very underpowered cars. Soooo glad I was driving a 2.8 v6 camaro back then..LOL

I can't speak for others here, but the most significant aspect of owning a GT350 and using it 85% of the time as a daily driver is the fact that I am driving one of the most capable cars on the road. The ability to maneuver through traffic and the fantastic stopping ability has saved myself some damaged auto claims, and probably my life, a few times since I got my car a year ago. I don't think I can say that if I were driving one of my other cars. The ability to take it to the track on the weekends and have fun, or participate in car shows is only icing on the cake. For me it is the perfect car.
