I'm a FI newbie, so please forgive the stupid question. When I look on the Whipple website, it states that the Stage 2 system makes 825 flywheel hp. I recognize that there are many factors which will influence the power output. My question is, am I right in assuming that the 825hp is if you just bolt it on to a totally stock car with the Whipple tune?

And assuming that is correct, then what should the power be with long tube headers and high-flow cats?

Thanks

Probably more like 725 in most cases. If you add lt headers and high flow cats maybe another 20.

We just finished a Mach 1 2022 with kooks headers, vibrant o2 spacers and whipple tune. It made 622rwhp but it was breaking up due to crappy fuel. I’m going to predict with solid 93 octane or with a booster or will push around 660-670rwhp.

my car on the Whipple tune for my 2019 gt made 650 with stock headers then a couple months down the road my cats started going out and the car made 630. I just got my kooks long tube header with green cats so we will see what we gain with those.

Are you getting a CEL with those spacers ?

The Whipple kits can make that power for sure with supporting mods and custom tuning. On the complete kit you'll make less than going custom tuning as Whipple has to be a little more conservative to keep the kits CARB compliant. Custom tuning will also dial it in more to your car as well.

Hit me up and we can go over your goals and get a kit dialed in for sure.

Feel free to DM me or call with any questions!

I think your assumption is correct. I am running the whipple tune, with Kooks 1 - 7/8" catted. Through the M6 the expected loss from flywheel to wheel is about 10% maybe 15%. With those estimates one could expect 700 to 740 whp, however the responses below and other research has shown this number to be closer to 650'ish.
I am not getting dyno tuned for a few months, so I wont be able to confirm any numbers for a bit. Sorry

correct, on a whipple tune we’ve seen anywhere from 620-675. Custom tuning we’ve seen anywhere from 690-750 and that’s using the 3.875 and the 3.750 pulley on 93 octane. We’ve gone up to about 825rwhp on E85 with the 3.625 pulley with a stock block.
About 925 with a built block and the 3.375 pulley and that was on a hot day.
When we did Steve’s whipple before he went to lethal he made right at 700 even on the 3.825 on 93, 1000cc injectors and a BAP tuning with Lund.

These blowers with the right tuning are absolutely incredible.

Not that I don't believe you, but it didn't seem to make sense as the advertised HP (crank) for the stage 2 kit on Whipples tune is 825, on 93 octane. Any idea why there's about 200 drivetrain loss? Is there an "*" somewhere that says "3.75 pulley" or something? The typical loss would be 85-130'ish.

Looks like *someone* is assuming 20% drivetrain loss. I’ve seen estimates that high but the 10r80 with a locked converter is less than 10%.

This also had Kooks headers with Vibrant O2 foulers. We've never had a whipple tuned Mustang make close to 700rwhp. With that said, the very same car could've dynoed 650 the very next day. The weather, humidity, the mood of the dyno all play a huge part in numbers. No correcting, no fluffing, nothing. A dyno will read a car completely different from one day to the next or even, one hour to the next. Dyno numbers to me are just a baseline. Customer couldve driven down the street to another shop, hopped on the very same dynojet as ours and had numbers completely different. Our dyno is only 4 years old, re-calibrated yearly so not too worried about that.

I have a 21 10R80 Mach 1. Whipple Stage 2 6 rib oversized heat exchanger. Only mod when originally dyno was a steeda h pipe everything else stock and we had a high of 670whp on whipple tune. 93 pump gas and the 3.875 pulley. Just installed kooks 1 7/8 green catted headers everything else the same and dyno was high of 726whp. This was 6th gear pull not sure the original gear pull same whipple tune
