Will This Gen 4 I hear blurbs about be for the 15-17's? I just purchased Gen3 and wondering if it makes any sense to go Gen4 down the road??? Do we know anything about this Gen4 and am I missing something?

Considering the 3.0 Gen5 whipple DOES fit on a 2015-2017 but whipple refuses to support the larger blower for the gen2 coyote engine I wouldnt get my hopes up for anything past the Gen3 2.9 kit for the 2015-2017 cars.

Ive asked whipple and they said the gen5 3.0 does indeed fit but will only focus on the gen3 coyote 2018+ cars for that kit.

Yes it seems insane to me if people want to chest thump how badass the gen3 is that they would refuse to support a bigger inverted designed kit for the 2015-2017 cars.

Edit reason I asked if they would support the gen5 3.0 kit is my 1st question when they released the gen3 kit is why in the world would anyone swap a gen2 to a gen3 whipple or even buy a gen3 2.9 kit knowing there is a larger whipple that they make available!?

Sounds to me like they wont support the gen5 in the 2015-2017 cars because it would undermine the gen3 sales........

The gen5 fits the hell with gen4 whipple just needs to support the 3.0 gen5 for the older 2015-2017 cars.

You do realize the current Gen2 Whipple head unit is more than capable of turning the 2015+ Coyote motor to scrap metal....right???

    Yes all of them can.

But considering how OMG awesome people portray the gen3 kits to be why wouldnt they offer their best kit too?

That would be EVEN better than the gen3 and maybe even make XXX on pump gas!! it could be so awesome the world would just completely stop!

    LOL.

In all seriousness though the gen5 is improved over the gen3 so not offering a kit that does indeed bolt up seems to alienate all the people with 2015-2017 cars

I'm already kinda scared what I'm gonna pick up with the Gen3/150mm throttle body. I'm gonna try and dyno back to back, I'll baseline my current combination, then swap out to the gen3/150mm throttle body and see where we are at. Just gotta get my hands on some good E85, the fuel at the pumps now is testing much lower than I ran all summer.

they skipped 4 for a reason. my thought is they have a 4 already in development but was on hold to get the gen 5 out for the 18. my thought is the gen 4 is a 2.9 inverted and will be for 15-17 or maybe even 15-18+

I was thinking this as well. I went roush, whipple gen 2, now whipple gen 3. If they come out with a Gen4 I may just switch turbo lol.

perhaps they are waiting on EO and CARB approval before releasing

I'd be most interested in updated FLARE software with data logging capability.

The reason the Gen 3 was released in such hurry is
    1. Because it was ready lol.
    2. Because it works, it's proven over & over to add 60ish whp over the Gen 2 all other things being equal.
    3. TVS style blowers are in the works with something that is supposed to change the game (in the PD world) as seen in development on the ZR-1 & whipple wanted to beat them to the market getting while the gettin is good.
    R2650 versus R2300:
    4% more efficient
    15% larger (2300cc vs. 2650 cc)
    18% less input power required
25% more air flow at 18,000 RPM and 14 psi boost (2.0 Pressure Ratio)
    72% isentropic efficiency vs. 68%
Just food for thought for peeps about to pull the trigger.

Gen 4, 5, 10 I dont give a f*k!! My Whipple stage 2 blows the tires off so hard im still trying to figure it out. There comes a time when enough is enough for a street car IMO. Some people like to chase a HP number....more more more....not me. Im here just for the fun.

Well said. I'm here for the fun as well. Part of that fun for me is chasing a hp number. For me, putting long tubes stage 2 blower cams and gen 3 were a decision to make more power with less pressire on the motor.

808muscle, you bring up a good point, I am looking to install a whipple in the future for my 2015 gt pp 6spd. Just received some bmr 089/082 springs, steeda billet shock mounts, bmr cb005 cradle bushing lockout kit,mmr crankshaft/timing gear. Just a daily driver, besides my toyota tacoma. With all the whipple kits out there, what kit is best for street and everyday use...I mean a stage 1 kit vs stage 3. Am i going to be able to use that extra hp for daily use. leaning towards stage 3, but makes me wonder if i should do a stage 2.

I have the gen 2 stage 2 kit on my daily driver, snow and all.

With the PP 373 gears, it is more power than you can put down on street tires. Being my only car, I dont have the luxury to drive with drag radials, and use strictly street tires set to 32psi.

3rd gear pulls from 3,000 rpm running up through 5th is awesome. Anything beyond 50% throttle in 1st or 2nd just blows the tires off if you have the flight control set to full power.

I usually use the whipple flight control to take 25% power out of first and 15% out of second gear to make it more manageable.

If you put a gen 2 stage 2 kit together on the cheap by purchasing a blower from someone who upgraded to gen 3, that would be my recommendation.

With the money you save, you can purchase axles and a clutch as it will only be a matter of time when you need those if you ever plan on taking your car to the strip on the occasional weekend.

Gen 4 will be available for the 15-17's but there's no timeframe on when they'll be released and we don't have any data yet on the improvements we'll see on it over the Gen 3.
