I did the fans. They are on always. No regrets. They are loud. But they work great. I considered both as well. I’m happy with the fans as I don’t live at the track. Very easy set up for them as well. Id go fans all over again. So you could say I’m a fan. Lol.

I had the fans on a 2015 f-150 and was pretty happy with the performance at the time….but again….I have no data to back that up.
How loud are the fans? I've heard people complain about the noise level...

How loud are they? How much noise inside the car with windows up and with windows down?

The fan noise never was an issue inside the car, especially while driving. You could hear them when stopped but they weren’t bad. Outside the car, loud enough for some people to ask questions.

But again, if I can cruise down the interstate at 70-80 for 5 minutes and it make zero difference in MCT then I really have doubts the fans can do much for us.

If the bypass is open ie sitting in traffic no fans or any size heat exchanger will have an effect. There will be no flow through the intercooler so no effect on iat. The rise in iat temp when not moving is the big aluminum blower being a big heat sink.

This is 100% accurate.

I have a gen 2 stage 2 whipple with standard size HE and IC pump. I switched to a 170 Reische, purchased the MFP phenloic spacers, and made a custom supercharger blanket. My dash reading on CHT prior were around the 203 - 210 with IAT 30 -40 over ambient. After the above mods, my CHT were in the 184 to 191 range and IAT about 10-12 degrees over ambient when cruising.

I would try the phenolic spacers not sure the gen 5 blower will clear the stock hood on mg 2019.

I had to remove the under hood insulation on my stock hood to make it fit. Im still on factory motor mounts.

I was pleasantly surprise with the embossed pony logo under the hood insulation.

Where did you purchase the mfp phenolic spacers and blanket? I been thinking of doing this on my Roush blower.

I have the department of boost heat exchanger without fans and also upgraded to the 13-14 Gt500 IC pump… before it would operate 40 degrees above ambient, now it operates at 30 degrees above ambient when cruising. Decent improvement but maybe cost wise, the mfp spacers and blanket are more cost effective with a bigger difference. I will say the recovery after a pull is faster and also the aesthetics of the big shiny heat exchanger is nice too

The spacers were purchased from VMP, but it looks like they no longer carry them. It looks like paramount speed carries them.

"2011-2020 5.0 Coyote Phenolic Spacers (cylinder head to intake) – Paramount Speed" https://paramountspeed.com/collecti...yote-phenolic-spacers-cylinder-head-to-intake

When I purchased from VMP, longer bolts were included.

My buddy had extra heat shielding material from a project he was working on that we used. I'll find out what it was called and update the post when I do.

I was a Terminator owner for about 9 years. I had lots of heat exchanger set ups some with fans some with no fans. From my experience there I chose the oversized HE no fans. Once you are moving over 5mph more air is passing through that Heat Exchanger than those fans can generate and then they are just a restriction. I say go oversized and call it a day.

This is exactly my understanding and why I went with the oversize HX.
