Track time soon. Wanted to order new cup2 tires. I know they were made specifically for the 350R. Only see the regular ones on tire rack. Not sure about the difference, trying to find the cup2 model designation, there's always zp, or ...

Also there's trofeo R in 325/305 as an option. Anyone running anything else on track?

I am running trofeo it's 305 all around. Very happy with the performance and wear on the track R spec alignment. Next time will go with either cup2 or trofeo r again, depending on deals that are out there, may even try the re71 if much cheaper. I 305 all around for rotation purposes.

You can tell they are the OEM R spec Cup 2's by the weight rating. Only way to distinguish from what I can tell. OEM front/rear will have a weight rating of 98Y/100Y, whereas the normal spec tires will have a 102Y/105Y weight rating.

RS3 305 square. What ever is on sale will be next. Id like to go up to a 325 or 315 square though.

When you search by model on the Tire Rack site, they automatically give you the correct tire. Michelin used to publish the actual tire part numbers on Michelinman.com, but they've stopped now. The 350R tires have less tread depth and they weigh less than the Porsche N-spec tires in the same sizes.

I do not have the car yet, but I will be using Toyo R888R. Probably from Tire Rack.

I wonder if they changed the compound on that tire? The RA1 and the RR have always been great tires. But when the 888 came out, they made us run them and they were quite possibly the worst tire ever. There was a massive revolt and then we went back to RA1's. They hopefully probably fixed the issue.

Yeah, I was not a big fan of the R888. Worked good for the first half of tire life and then fell off a cliff. Even when heat cycled properly. NT01 was a little better. I am willing to give the R888R a try as the reviews have generally been better then the R888.

My favorite r-comp is the Hankook Ventus TD Z221 C70 (soft). Grippy throughout the life of the tire. But comes in limited sizes. Only up to 18" at this point.

Heck the label probably says it all with the "R" suffix. The old ones were good for about 1 heat cycle as I recall. Somewhat related, their badass truck tire supposedly shared the same R compound as the RR slick. I thought that was cool.

What sizes? Are you swapping wheels?

I will be mounting them to the stock GT350 wheels (10.5"f, 11"r). 295f and 305r are the ideal sizes. They are smack in the middle for those rim widths so they should fit and ride perfect.

I am open to other r-comp options (other than slicks). Not sure what out there is good and decently priced in the GT350 sizes. The Michelins and Pirellis are more than I would like to pay.

How about 2018 ZL1 1LE Tires?

I might be interested in trying a set of the new Goodyear F1 Supercar R3's that come on the 2018 ZL1 1LE. Seems like I read an explanation by a GM or Goodyear engineer to the effect that the Cup 2's give one great lap then die, and if there's one drop of rain, forgetaboutit. Whereas the R3's are formulated for much longer track life, yet are still ok in the wet.

Anyone know where I read that? Or have any additional info or comments?

Also, I don't see them being sold over the counter yet.
