Purchased a Blackvue dashcam with intentions to mount behind rear view mirror. But car has Safe & Smart package with adaptive cruise control so it has a box full of things behind the rear view mirror taking up all the space. Now trying to figure out where to put it. Thought about the top right or left sides of the windshield but it makes the camera sit at an angle. Thought about mounting to the plastic cover for all the Safe & Smart package "stuff"??

Looking for ideas from anyone with this package on where you located yours.

Thank you

Not the best photo but mine is mounted underneath. Let me know if you have any questions.

If you're still looking for suggestions, here's my setup:

Street Guardian SG9663DCPRO+ (I have the older model with the wedge back camera). I attached it to the passenger's side so that it wouldn't be in my way when I drive. For the previous cars that I used the dashcam in I was able to put it on the driver's side but here it just took up too much windshield real estate.

I run the BlackVue as well. I have the mount that attaches it to the mirror arm and wired the power to the map light.

Mine has been to the right of the S&S block, but I'm trying it here. If the unit can keep a solid GPS signal, I'll leave it here, move the V1 over to the right side of the package, and conceal the wires.

How do you have that V1 mounted? You're not getting the Gen2?

Standard suction cup to the windshield, power from a mirror tap.

I've thought about the Gen2, but the Gen1 works well in my area (local cops with always-on radar, state cops with laser). The trade-in value is pretty low, so I just keep "forgetting" to do the upgrade.

Any suggestions where to connect the power for a camera system with parking protection mode?

I used the fusebox on the passenger's side. I had 3 wires for my cam:
  1. Ground
  2. 12v Constant
  3. 12V Auxiliary/Car Started
Thanks. Did you use fuse taps or tap the wires themselves?

I used a fuse tap.

This is the last one I purchased but I'm not sure if it's the one that is in my Mustang. I'll take a picture of whatever is in my car and upload it later today.

If someone knows the style feel free to comment. I I recall I had problems using the fuse-tap in the style of the fuses in the car.

Here's a pic of what's in my car. It looks like the fuse tap that I linked above.
Also to take your fuse panel off; you need to lift it up before you can pull it out.
