My A/C Evaporator Core went down and I need to replace it. The problem is that my car is from EU distribution so it means the AC is working on R-1234yf gas.
Do you know where is can get A/C Evaporator Core for this type of A/C?
I'm not sure if some of those from rockpart.com should work?

Not sure about Ford parts in the EU.
Your freon is R134A, not R1234yf which was mandatory on new cars from 2017 in the EU. Check with your Ford dealer to verify though or look under your hood and there should be a stamp telling you how much freon the system takes and what type. Or in the owners manual.

This is the complete evap core: https://www.tascaparts.com/auto-par...vac-cat/evaporator-and-heater-components-scat

This is the internal part of the evap core: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog...t+&+air+conditioning,a/c+evaporator+core,6768

Not sure what part you need but they both ship internationally. The price difference is huge from complete core assembly vs evap core internal part. So choose wisely. :)

It looks like my Mustang works on new freon 1234yf due to EU mandatory. In this case any of those from rockauto will work with 1234yf?

I would think it would not make a difference being that your draining the freon anyway then recharging it with new freon. I would call or email them to verify it can be used with the newer freon.

After doing some searching and reading on the internet regarding R123yf.
The part looks to be compatabile with either refridgerant. If you buy the complete evap assembly, it only lists it for R134a. But the internal part is backwards compatible from what I can see.
The only difference between the two gases is the amount of carbon dioxide they produce and R1234yf a bit more flammable.

Again check with your ford dealer, ask them for the part number then you can search the internet for it.

Correct me if I am wrong but even the european mustangs are produced in the USA right? Look on the inside of your drivers door. If so the parts should all be the same.

Buy the YK264 from rock auto

https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=9649564&cc=3307633&jsn=11

YK264 says this:
2015 Ford Mustang
Fits Following Model(s):
5.0L
Fit Models with GWP Less Than 150.
Replaces Original (OE) Part #:
GR3Z19860D more details on - https://www.carid.com/motorcraft/a-c-evaporator-core-mpn-yk-264.html?singleid=1369736840 (out of stock).

R134a, which replaced R12, lives for around 13 years in the atmosphere before breaking down; its “global warming potential” (GWP) is 1,400. 1234yf, on the other hand, breaks up in around 11 days, for a GWP of 4. It was developed to meet European Union directives, which demand a refrigerant with a GWP of less than 150.

Hi Bigul,

Your car was RHD? Please be careful, RHD and LHD evaporator core was in different direction. My was RHD. I order wrongly. Please refer to picture below. Top was for LHD, below was RHD, original from my car.

Until now I still don’t know what part number for my evaporator. If you got it, can share the part number? Thanks.
