Where is my Launch Control? 16 GT AT

I'm seeing people have the option in their track apps and I seem to have everything but launch control. Is this something turned off by the dealer?

What's it supposed to do, other than hold RPMs? Is it some TC algorithm that is supposed to get you off the line?

I tried it once, the tires just smoked and the rear stepped out.

My thinking was that it wouldn't actually engage the gear while I hold the revs and my foot on the brake. Otherwise won't I be in first gear and doing a brake stand? I figured it'd be better for the brakes and the car

I'm manual, I don't know about the autos. But they don't have it anyways.

In the manual, you have to press the brake to stop the vehicle, release the brake, pump the brake once, now launch control is engaged.

No, that's engaging the Hill-Hold feature. Launch Control is a feature in the track apps where you can set a controlled amount of rpm to launch the car. Manual car-only of course.

Nah man, I have that hill start feature turned off... I know what launch control is and that's what engages it.
