My thinking was that it wouldn't actually engage the gear while I hold the revs and my foot on the brake. Otherwise won't I be in first gear and doing a brake stand? I figured it'd be better for the brakes and the carWhat's it supposed to do, other than hold RPMs? Is it some TC algorithm that is supposed to get you off the line?
I tried it once, the tires just smoked and the rear stepped out.
I'm manual, I don't know about the autos. But they don't have it anyways. My thinking was that it wouldn't actually engage the gear while I hold the revs and my foot on the brake. Otherwise won't I be in first gear and doing a brake stand? I figured it'd be better for the brakes and the car
No, that's engaging the Hill-Hold feature. Launch Control is a feature in the track apps where you can set a controlled amount of rpm to launch the car. Manual car-only of course. In the manual, you have to press the brake to stop the vehicle, release the brake, pump the brake once, now launch control is engaged.
Nah man, I have that hill start feature turned off... I know what launch control is and that's what engages it.No, that's engaging the Hill-Hold feature. Launch Control is a feature in the track apps where you can set a controlled amount of rpm to launch the car. Manual car-only of course.
If anything, this thread has confused me more. Do autos have it? Not have it? People are posting one thing, then another.........I'm so confused. Hell, does my car have it?Jeezus. These cars have been out for 4 years. The guys that dont have it. Dont know if they have it? And the guys that do have it. Don't know how it works.
