I guess they like cars that rust out in two years!

I would have bought my wife a Subaru SUV but I remember
the Subies in the 70's rusting out before folk could pay for them.

Couldn't see paying $30,000+ for a vehicle that could start
rusting the very minute I took it off the lot (like a Dodge)

Obviously, Subarus have gotten a lot better over the years. We had a 2010 Legacy 2.5GT (6MT) for nine years and it had no corrosion issues the whole time we had it. It sat outdoors 24/7/365 because it wouldn't have fit in what passes for a garage, even if I could have taken everything that was in there, out.

Yeah, Subies are 'different', but you don't have to join the 'culture' to enjoy owning one.

Understand that with the WRX you can still get a stick in a reasonably peppy 4-door car that can pass for a family sedan for $30k or so. Can't do that with any US domestic make or (as far as I know offhand) any other Japanese make. I'd rather own an out-of-warranty Subie than an out-of-warranty BMW . . .

I have had both. I'll take the BMW. WRX/STI parts are expensive and horizontally opposed, turbo-charged engines present many unique challenges.

I was born in Troy, NY and lived in Rotterdam, NY and hung out with friends in Schenectady, NY
I went out with a girl from Troy her name was Shelly Blood. She was a lot of fun. I grew up in Latham by the traffic circle. Old Loudon Road.

I lived in Liesureville Apts for a couple of years, way back when. Worked for Hoffman & Miller Oil Co. in Rotterdam. Used to party at the Rafters in Saratoga near the lake. Small world.

I have posted garage photos before. but not from this angle. This is what I see as soon as I walk out into my garage. Taken in the middle of a oil change.

Best one I've seen on here Wilkinda65.....truly magnificent looking! As an aside the cover looks great too. Is it for inside use only as I'm looking for one, but needs to be weatherproof for outside use. Any recommendation please?

I've not followed Dodge real close, but they have been known for that forever. I'm surprised to read nothing new.

Here is some old news, Ford was once known for water in the tail lights. Seems they got that right.
