I just got an edelbrock 2650 and I'm wondering what wheels and tires will do ok on the street with 680whp?

Check out Nitto 555r on whatever wheels you go with. Can hook with power but not completely out of control in the rain.

Mickey Thompson ET street S/S. Nitto 555R. Toyo R888R. Are good street options.

Mickey Thompson ETStreet R. Nitto NTo5rs. If you wanna hit the drag strip. And if you don’t drive in bad weather.

I’d do at least a 305 in the back. And something strong and light for the wheels like forgestar or weld.

I’m also at 680whp and I run 305/35/20 Nitto 555R’s and absolutely happy with them and they hook. I’m also a manual trans.

+1 for 305 MT SS. I actually am so far even getting decent wear out of them (3k miles and I haven’t noticed any loss of tread yet, I’m sure they’ve lost a little though) and I also drove them most of last winter during lots of rain and a few torrential downpours on city streets and the highway. Wet conditions are not a problem for them if you know how much hp you have and respect the throttle. I never went over 70mph in wet conditions (usually stayed around 60 on highway) and avoid big puddles or water flowing across the road. Doesn’t matter what tire you have if you’re in water deeper than the treads, you will hydroplane anyways if you hit it too fast.

If NA should be fine but haven't seen many FI applications run these.
The new GT500.

Wider tires aren't as important as the tire itself. Choose a sticky tire. There are a lot of 500-700whp mustangs here in Florida. Most run cheap, crappy tires. Maybe those are the guys who end up in the crowds?

PS4S or R888R wouldn't be a bad choice.

I meant to say pilot sport 4s. Factory PP1 tires but in s 305. I really like the stock tires all around but think after the supercharger I’m going to need more traction lol. I’m looking for a good all around combo straight line and handling on the street. Living in N.H. it’s nice having a tire that works on the cooler weather and rain. Obviously I don’t drive it in the winter.

Ah didn't realize they were sticking with those. Those came stock on the pp1 18+ (albeit not as wide) and broke lose even in stock form so I swapped them out pretty early.

The new gt500 really has ps4s? That’s going to be a handful.
