I am having a hard time deciding what to do wheel and tire wise on my new GT Premium with GT Performance pack. I am scheduled to have the stock tires replaced next week (replacing summer only Pirellis with all-season Pilot Sport) and was thinking it might be better to just go ahead and change the wheels and tire sizes while I'm at it. I am thinking of changing the wheels from the stock 19x9" front and 19x9.5" rear to 19x9.5" front and 19x10" rear and getting 285/35-19 on the front and 305/35-19 on the rear. The other option is change to 20x9.5" on front and 20x10" rear and go with 285/30-20 on front and 305/30-20 on the rear.

Does anyone foresee any issues with either of these choices? Would they both fit? Need and spacers? Car will be stock height.

One thing I am afraid of is the 285's on the front throwing debris on the doors and rear panel. Will it be a problem? Should I get rock guards? Does anyone know of good ones for a 2021 GT?

Thanks in advance.

PS: Haven't decided on the tire style yet. Any suggestions on ones available in same diameter and both a 9.5" and 10" width?

Are you going after looks or what? Handling may suffer some with that tire width to wheel width. Id up to 11 rears or 10.5s atleast if you want to go 305 and not sacrifice handling

If you're going to run a 305 in the rear, you might want to consider a wider wheel like a 19 x 10.5 or a 19 x 11. A 305 will fit on a 10 inch wide wheel but it will be tight, most tire manufacturers recommend a 10.5 and a a 10" is at the low end of acceptable width.

The PP2 wheels come in 4 widths (9.5, 10, 10.5, 11) and you can buy them from ford racing but they are expensive and are heavy, over 30 lbs each. Also RTR makes a PP2 copy that come in a 9.5 and a 10.5 width and are cheaper than true ford wheels.

The only 9.5 wheel that needs a spacer in the front is the factory PP1 rear wheel. You can run up to a 10.5 in the front with 305's without any issues, just make sure you get wheels that have the correct offset to run them in the front.

Depend of your goal
If you are after better handling, go for square size
The Mustang is a front heavy car and need all the tires you can get in front
A good and easy choice is 285/35/19 on 10” 35 offset wheels
It make rotating tires a breeze

The tire sizes you are proposing would work best with 10 inch wide wheels in front and 10.5 or 11 inch in the rear. No spacers should be needed as long as you get wheels with appropriate offsets. For example, the SVE wheels from LMR are +35 front and +50 rear.

I am having a hard time finding any 10 inch wheels that do not say rear wheels only.

You must be on American Muscle. They sell a lot of 8.5 front 10 rear setups.

LMR's wheels are mostly 19x 10/11 staggered or 19x10 square.

If you want to spend your money with american muscle, look at any of the RTR wheels, they come in 9.5" and 10.5" The RTR tech 5 is close to the PP2 wheel in looks if that is your flavor.

Good call. The RTR's are nice.
LMR sells a PP2 knock off that looks a lot closer to the factory wheel than the RTR does and are slightly cheaper, weigh less and come in 10" and 11" widths

LMR wheels do clear the six piston brembos.
