My nearest dealer is Serramonte Ford in Colma, I bring all my work trucks there but don’t know if I can trust them with a GT 350. Anyone bring their car there for oil change and/or service?

what a rip off. about a $100 more than they should've charged. and if you can do it yourself, materials is about $90.
What do you expect in Commifornia? Sorry for those who have to live there. Here in Md. it's about $160.00

About $160 at Galpin Ford in Prescott, AZ. It takes 10 quarts of fully synthetic oil.

Mobil 1 when it’s on sale is $5/quart and the filter is about $25.

$75 I do it myself but fortunately I have a 4 post lift which makes it a lot easier.

You may want to double check the oil specification.:surprised:
Mobil1 is good oil..... However, if you popped the engine and they found out you used Mobil1, it could be a problem.

Just as you say, he needs to look at the spec and make an informed decision.

Your engine has been designed to use engine oil that meets our specification or an equivalent engine oil of the recommended viscosity grade that meets API SN requirements for gasoline engines. Do not use supplemental engine oil additives because they are unnecessary and could lead to engine damage that your vehicle warranty does not cover

Note: Oil must meet specification WSS-M2C931-C or use SAE 5W-50 oil that meet API SN requirements.

must be your particular dealer. i doubt that is common. at most keep receipts.
It was a Subaru WRX/STI. It was not the dealer who wanted to see the log, receipts, pictures, it was Subaru corporate. WRX-STI EJ engines had many years of piston issues and oil starvation (sound familar?) and Subaru started cracking down on warranty work because they likely got tired of replacing engines on their dime. So people with tunes, were almost always denied. And if you changed your own oil and the car was starved for oil and failed, well, they went after those too. If they could blame just about anything for the failure they would.

Not saying Ford will do the same, but Ford is really struggling financially and it seems like lot of failures on a very expensive motor. So I am taking no chances. No mods to powertrain. No DIY oil changes. Etc.

In March, I paid $140 for oil change and an extra quart of oil for me to have - just in case.

Thanks for the info!

to clarify, I’ve used Mobil 1 5-50 in my 2012 Boss 302 Laguna Seca since new, never had a problem.

the dealer just did the first oil change on the Shelby so I’m good to go, I’ll do the rest from here on out.

Motorcraft will be going in the Shelby.

However, does Castrol 5-50 synthetic
meet ford specs?

For those that have not taken delivery of their cars I would recommend buying the Ford Care oil changes. They work out to 43.33 plus tax. I just had my first one done and I was sure they would charge me for the additional oil over what a normal car capacity is but they did not.

Well fuck the dealer for changing my oil. I was at an HPDE today, going 140 coming into a turn. The damn dealership didn’t properly tighten the oil filter. It came loose and blew 10 quarts of oil all over. Trying to slow down from that speed with oil all over the brakes and tires it’s SCARY AS FUCK!!!

:whew: that sounds super scary. Was there any damage to your car? The GT350 of a YouTube guy was on fire when that happened.
