what's norm for changing the Engine oil for 2018 Mustang GT?

I just got an oil change done for my GT. They charged $65 bucks and changed 8 QTs of oil only. Before I used to give it to a different dealership they used to change 10 Qts of oil for $55.

You better go make sure you have enough oil. You're 2 quarts short if you only got 8 in there.

Potentially yes. It's very easy, you use the dipstick in the engine bay. There's a section in the owner's manual on how to do it.

Normal driving won't hurt anything, but high performance driving will. Those extra 2 quarts are the built in safety margin.

Absolutely incredible that 3-4 years later, dealerships still don't know the oil capacity of the gen 3.

Get it topped off, but you have nothing to fear.

The added capacity is for 10,000 mile change intervals.

The cost went up at my local dealer from $50 to $60 in 2021, so the cost increase doesn't surprise me.

Yeah atleast charging more due all the things happening is also fine. Not doing the job correctly is the problem. People like us are generating the revenue for the company. This example might not be related to this post but a small example: recently my tire got punctured I went ford store for fixing it they told me that I will have to wait 3 days and then will have to replace the tire. They don’t have it in stock and gave me a quote $250. Fortunately I found a tire repair shop where they fixed the puncture for $20 bucks.

on city streets like a socially responsible person, no. Full tilt boogie on a track, yes.
either go back and chew their ass for failing to pay attention to details, and not bothering to check the stick after they were done. And have them put 2 more quarts in. Or never go back there again.

10qt costs about $45, filter about 10.

Couldn't have said it better. And some people walking around wondering why people don't want to go to the dealer to do work - when something like an oil change can't be done properly...
