Besides the ECU being locked down, I’m not a fan of the gaudy iPad screens that don’t seem to match the interior, the Camaro-like design in the back, the auto start/stop, and the rear end as the crease look is too exaggerated for my liking.

Was curious as to what would prevent some others from buying it to see if my dislikes were common or it's something else altogether.
The dash loses me.

Add this to the pile of dislikes, no physical HVAC controls! I can’t stand having to mess with a touch screen while driving or waiting for the screens to boot up to control the fans

To me, Ford is making the same mistake GM made going from the 5th to 6th Gen Camaro. Basically tweak what you had that worked.

The S550 was a huge departure from the S197 and it clearly payed off. There is just nothing new or compelling enough to make me want one especially at the price they will want for it.

I don’t want to tab through touch screens to find something and wind up rear ending someone either. :)

And I love this damned car so I’m keeping it come Hell or high water.

There is nothing that is "BS" about the inflation over the last 3 years. It's been astronomical.

If you paid bills and shopped, you'd know that.
yes im quite aware of the inflation, but just speaking of car prices.....they are way over priced....
with all the constraints and other things involved....
sorry, to me $70,000 for a GT is just way too much. esp when i bought my 2015 (8yrs ago) for $39,000.... thats a $30,000 difference and that would be like buying an Ecoboost along with your GT. just too much IMO.. i know prices go up but if thats the norm then a GT in another 5 years will be $90,000. i hope you have your $90K to buy the GT you want.

Well.....first of all, 2024 GT's aren't $70,000.00 A 2024 GT Premium starts at $48,610.00 A standard GT starts at $44,090.00

And $39,000.00 in 2015 = $49,916.91 now.

So yes, prices have increased.....largely due to inflation. Which is 28% since 2015.

Saw the other day that Farley announced they will be adding back AM radio to all 2024 Ford and Lincoln models. So cross that one off the list, for now 😂

I had to really think about why I don't like the new front end, and it comes down to this one thing. Why is the grille taking up so much space? If they had done it like the s550 grille with more body colored plastic underneath it, I would have been fine with it. The Dark Horse directly addresses this, so no wonder people seem to like it better....

S650 pricing is a big deal to me. Too high in my opinion. That's probably the number 1 factor for me pushing me away from a purchase.

I don't like the 2018+ manual transmission gearing. It makes the car feel too lazy and slow taking off from a start.

I don't like direct injection either. I will accept it if there are no other options, but my 2017 has port only injection, works fine and I can do some upgrades myself or even rebuild it if necessary in 5-10 years. I'm not convinced that the newer Coyotes are enough better than what I currently own to be worth the price. If Ford had added a bunch of cubic inches I would probably buy an S650 even if it had the other issues. However, what I see is not enough of an improvement for the money.

I do really like the exterior styling and the interior is not a deal breaker for me. If the decision were based on styling alone I would buy in a second. I never really liked the S550 front end styling that much. To me the S650 front is way better. I do prefer the S550 tail, but the S650 rear styling is cool as well. But I buy cars more for how they function rather than what they look like.

It's the mechanical things that I don't prefer. Possibly if the S650 cost a lot less ~$40K base for the dark horse I would consider it. I'm almost glad they are too expensive because I'm worried that I wouldn't be happy long-term based on the other "features" of the car. I've made that mistake before where I bought a car based on one or two features being really great and then ended up that there were other downsides that caused me to want to sell.

Coming from a tuned 15gt to a 21 Mach 1 , I can tell you the power difference is very noticeable! It just keeps pulling gall the way up to 7400rpm. The Gen 2 fell on it's face shortly after 6k rpm's
And with Direct injection and 12:1 compression I can run E85 with just a tune.

That's the 1st 1/2-way decent looking picture I've seen of the car. Every single other picture made the car look like a retarded meth-donkey.

I wouldn't buy an S650 because I already have an S550. Been there, done that.
I don't think there's anything wrong with the S650 but it's basically the same car as the S550 so if I were to get a new fun car, I would want to try something new. I'm thinking Corvette or if I somehow find a bunch of money, a gen 4 Viper.

Yellow makes that car look surprisingly good, at least to me. If it weren’t for the interior and the price I may have been tempted

But you have the automatic 10 speed and are comparing it to the older 6 speed. I realize the 10 speeds are faster. Yes I know the new Coyotes rev out better and make more power. And my last Mustang before the 2017 was a GT350. I did prefer the GT350 engine tuning over the setup Ford used in my current Mustang. The extra power is great and revving to 8,250 rpm was really good as well. I understand that the newer Coyote is somewhere between mine and the Voodoo in how it behaves. I'm planning to do intake/tune on mine, which I think will get me close enough, plus a 7,500 RPM red line. Intake plus tune is a lot cheaper than a new car.

On track, the GT350 engine/gearing combination was really good and the gearing let you shift less frequently, especially in combination with the broad rev range. But on the street accelerating 0-60 where I spend 99% of the time, the 2017 PP1 manual gearing is more enjoyable for me. And especially with the price having paid probably less than 1/2 what a Mach 1 costs, I don't think the newer Coyote is worth paying double (or a lot more than double for a loaded DH) for me at this time.

I use paddles most of the time so not really using the 10-speed auto shifting as a comparison,
Intake on your 17 will help highend but it's the low and mid-range power that will suffer with the Gen 2. I almost bought a 350 before the Mach but after a test drive, I was unimpressed with the lower end power and amount of issues with engines so I went with the pre-order of my 21 Mach for under MSRP.
