What would it take to fabricate and install an air lift system like the ones that are on formula one cars for the purpose of changing tires etc..

For those of us that dont have a lift at our disposal, i wondered if this could be done. Plug in an air source or set it up like a bagged car, and up the car goes. It beats having to jack your car up with jack stands. What do you think?

I was looking at lifts today. For less then 2k you can get a lift, providing you have the room and your floor can handle the load

I see what your saying but lets say you wanna go to the track. Having a built in lift system makes it so convenient to change over to track tires. If your on the road and get a flat, with a spare tire your back on the road in 10 minutes. My point being its always with you where ever you go..

Spare tire? I got a nice inflator and a can of leak seal from Ford! But they did throw in roadside assistance.

If you’re serious about this, (and why not) contact the company that sells it ask them to put you in contact with a team that has installed it on a S550. Then you‘ll get your answers. Let us know when you do.

Dude, get the Dewalt cordless 1/2” impact w hog ring, 6” extension wobble cut, 19mm socket, harbor freight torque wrench, and the OEM scissor jack.

This should take you less than 60 seconds (85 piss drunk):
Parking brake on
Break lugs loose quarter turn w torque wrench
Swap ext and 19mm onto cordless
Position jack and use cordless to raise
Zip off lugs
Swap wheel
lugs on fingers
Zip light star
2nd heavier pass rev star
Drop jack
Torque

Its not that much different from a guy who prefers a bagged set up over adjustable coilovers. Sure you can set the ride height with coilovers to what ever you want. Its gonna take some time to do it. Bagged guys can do it on the fly. I’m just saying it would be cool to be able to jack your car up in seconds anywhere you go. You don’t have to go with the system i linked earlier, I’m certain there are other options.

How often do you plan on getting the car in the air every year?

Jacking rails and a well placed speed jack will get you in the air in seconds.
