What the heck ?

The more I get to know my new Mustang (2015 Gt Base) I find things I am liking more and more as well as really odd things I cant figure out what Ford was thinking?

One of these is that god awful looking black ugly box the map lights are in, they couldn't work something out more streamlined and cleaner looking than that thing. My son has a new GTI and man his roof are there, his box is much much nicer looking, feeling, less bulky and so on.

Man I hope some aftermarket makes something out of a nicer material and lower profile, than can replace that, its kinda and eyesore up there.

Its safe to say the dome light housing is the only reused part from the older generations. I guess that's where the money must've run out.

complaining about the dome light casing? If that's the only thing to complain about I'd say Ford succeeded big time. I never even look at the thing, and I don't think it's bad at all. They spent the money where it counted imo, idgaf about my dome light.

Can't upgrade everything and keep such a low base price. To be honest, I'm still floored that I walked out the door with all these upgrades on the base and paid less than $24,000. Of course, if I paid an extra 10,000 - 15,000 thousand I might feel differently.

how come you paid less than 24k for a v6?? :headbonk: I also have a v6 (auto) which makes the car go up 1.5k and just the 051 package which makes it go up like 1.5k more and i paid 29k for mine -.-!

Don't get me wrong, I love the car overall, but I think Ford cuts corners more here and there and if anyone gives a crap, that thing looks like crap and feels cheap, Ford could have easily made it look better and used a little better material, they just blew it off, or someone didn't care to even worry about it. Good things and bad things, but the bad things could have easily been done better.

I also got the 51 package, spare wheel, all-weather mats, and tint for that price. My dealer was a class act the whole way. When I ordered it back in July '14, he assured me he would apply all rebates available when I took delivery. He also suggested I do some legwork on my own, which led me to x-plan pricing. When I took delivery I had a $750 rebate, and my dealer found me an additional $1250. TTL and out the door I was under $24K. Feeling like I got a good deal and actually getting a good deal has made me love this car that much more every day.
