I just want to know what rpm you shift your manual trans at when you are what you call spirited driving.
Personally I don't consider 3000 rpm spirited, 3000 I consider putting around and I don't consider 7000 spirited, 7000 I consider all out, but I will include them because there is no wrong answer, it is whatever you think it is.
Most of all have fun.

If you will, mention which trans you have, 11 to 17 MT82, or 18 and up MTD4.

My shift light is / was at 7100 (my engine and tune are standard) but I was right on the verge of buzzing the limiter when I shifted - sometimes would, sometimes wouldn’t.

I have tweaked the shift light down to 7000 now but I haven’t had a ‘spirited’ drive to check if it works better for me.

I’m not sure if :

A) My reaction was a bit slower than the rate of the revs climbing or

B) What the soft limiter is set at on a euro or

C) If there is a lag in the digital dash display.

I should really hook up the OBD and see what a log says.

Voted. But why just manuals? Us poorfolk driving around in slushboxes can still shift manually.
Before the poll I was looking at the gear ratio differences between the two manual transmissions and specifically the rpm drop difference from 2nd to 3rd gear and it got me to wondering what people shifted at because the amount of rpm drop is dependent on rpm. Hey, my car is an automatic and I do occasionally shift it manually.

I have the d4 trans with 4.09s so on a highly spirited run I'll shift over 7k semi spirited 35-4

I am going to start a “how often does you car go under 3500 RPMs” poll.
Wife drive ours most of the time, so quite often under 3500 rpm's. She got 23.8 mpg last tank. LOL

I was talking to an acquaintance that has a 19 gt the other day about driving techniques. He said he always shifts out around 5k for fear of breaking something. I did my normal it owes me money spill.

Ended up taking him for a ride a couple weeks later. He gets it now.

Awesome for your wife saving that money though.
We don't save any money when I drive it, but it's not very often.

I have my shift light set for 6500 rpm, and generally shift just before it goes red. Unless I'm in a real hurry. But with 3.55 gears in a 2018, that's pretty close to 100mph in 3rd gear... And I don't live anywhere I can get much more 'spirited' than that.

7000, lol. I let it rip. 7000 indicated is probably close to the limiter by the time you actually shift with how fast these motors spin up.

Also I find that my car almost feels nicer to shift at higher RPM's versus bumbling around. Everything feels very smooth.

I shift around 6000 but my 392 redlines at 6400 so not quite the same as a 5.0
