In both S and S+, if you paddle shift, the transmission will not change gears without the use of the paddles.
No, that only happens in S. To a point. The transmission will automatically downshift to prevent lugging the engine. RTFM.

Apparently all modes, but I think the OP was asking about driving, not coming up to a stop, during which the transmission will downshift to avoid stalling, per the owner’s manual:

“As long as the engine speed does not exceed the maximum allowable limit, downshifts are allowed. SelectShift automatically downshifts at low engine speeds in order to prevent engine stalls.”

I normally use Sport mode unless my wife is in the car. Then I use normal mode. I find normal mode shifts to often and doesn't hold a gear for long, so it's in 10th gear around 46 mph. But in any other mode, my wife freaks out if the shadow of my foot touches the gas pedal.

The wet/snow mode is smoooooth... and best for fuel economy. Normal has stronger shifts. Sport + is aggressive, keeps you in higher revs, does engine braking, and is FUN! Track turns off traction control and is at your peril. I don't use S for paddle shifting. I'm not as fast as the automatic.

Sport is way too urgent for me. Normal allows me to have much more pedal travel and therefore control.

I typically drive in Normal - I don't like the throttle mapping of Sport+ or Track modes nor how long they hold low gears for daily driving. It's fine for spirited driving, I guess, but when I put it in sport+ for driving on twisty roads I always shift with the paddles manually.

'My mode' is set to Sport +, Sport steering and Track exhaust...Hell yeah brother! The first thing I do after starting her up is flick the mode switch twice and off I go. Mostly in Sport re the trans and use the paddles often, flicking between paddle and back to full auto when doing an almost stop, rolling start.

Is the throttle mapping the same in Sport + and Track? I’ve been trying out both modes. Seems like Sport + is a little bit more sensitive but I could be wrong

Anytime I'm on a road where I can do more than 45, it's sport all the way!
