Carvana values my car at $32,210 and Vroom values it at $42,130. Carvana is nuts!!
Vroom has more investor cash to burn I'm guessing. Or Carvana has too many Mustangs it can't move so price is coming down. Or Vroom's algorithm is retarded and lagging 30+ days on reality. If you want to get your money back on your car, you'll want to do it very soon I think.

I bought a no-option 2020 GT automatic in November 2020. List price $38,670. Got about $7k off list by going down to VA. In June, at about 3,000 miles, Vroom bid me $39k. No thanks, I can't replace and it's prime driving time. I check again for kicks before Thanksgiving, now with 5200 miles: $40,036. Sold. Ordered a 2022 from forum dealer Chapman Ford. Same exact car except the new Atlas Blue instead of Velocity Blue. I tried all the buying services this time after seeing the Vroom price - Carvana was $30,027. Second place was $38k.

My brother sold his 2018 Mazda 3 for 23.5k after seeing what I was doing. He paid 19k 3yrs and 25k miles ago as a new leftover (listed for $25k.. the 2019 was a new generation)

Prices have been going down in my zip code just went down over $4k since November. The prices they are offering now no way I’d sell.

Back in may I was offered 37,800 for my 17 vert, I checked again about a month ago and now I was offered 27K. Over a 10K drop in 6 months time, but then again May, June are prime selling time for a convertible. Nobody wants to buy a vert in November in Ohio.

Have y'all been tracking Carvana's problems? If what I'm reading is true they may not be in business all that much longer. Trouble in Texas, Florida, Michigan, California, Indiana, North Carolina to name a few. Big fines, suspension of sales, class action lawsuits, yeah, I'd just hope their check wouldn't bounce.

You mean buy high sell low and ignore laws when it does suit them, doesn't work out well? Then again if Uber and Lyft got away with the same scam they should be able too, right?

Carvana offered me 34K for my 2020 Frontier that I paid 28K for (30K incl taxes) 7 mo ago. Nissan dealer basically matched them on trade in. I have no idea what they are doing with these cars but the dealer says a lot of them are being sold to the rental companies since there are basically no fleet sales anymore. At any rate, I bought a new 22 Frontier for less than the trade in on the 20. Mind boggling... Note that all of this is region and season dependent. Big metro areas like ATL have a massive used car market.

Google produced some interesting results on this. Govt fines and stop sale orders due to dealership laws violated. Failure to produce metal plates for sales. Class action lawsuits. ANd doubled 3rd quarter earnings..... Sounds like a hot mess. But what do you expect when dealing with the department of motor vehicles and state dealership laws in all 50 states.

There's one of their vending machines on my way to work. Of late it's only been about 1/4 full. Up till now its been brimming.

caution and full research into each jurisdiction particulars before taking on legal exposure. Instead of running a devil-may-care, "we're a new paradigm, we're an app company, this is the new economy" Silly-Con-Valley funded money grabbing operation designed to extract 'value' by taking advantage of arbitrage and let the lawyers figure it out long after the principles have skipped town with their winnings and left the "corporation" a worthless husk.
