I am going out in the next few days to get local dealer offers now that I have online offers….I think it’s time to move on to a classic Mustang. It will fit my lifestyle better….
maybe buy this blue one and transition it to this sportier look….repaint the top, minor interior and front end changes to get there…..

Really thinking about doing the same. Especially since the offers are right at what I paid almost 6 years ago. Though on the flip side, classics and now even 80's models have also gone up a bunch in the last year as folks had more time at home to work on them as well as gov't handouts that they needed to spend on something.

Whether it is cars or houses, seems like they always go up in tandem. You either have to sell and wait for one to come down or not go up as much as the other, or you pretty much get what you already have!

The 71-73 body style has actually started jumping in value recently over the last 5 years, especially the Mach 1 platform. Me personally, I just never liked the 71-78's - but that's just me.

All Mustangs, regardless of their platform have a unique following and Enthusiast base. As one platform becomes harder to get due to ever increasing values, the next becomes desirable for restoration or collectibility. It's happened time and time again over the years.

The 74-78's may someday have their turn, but the Cobra of that era has better overall aesthetics than the "base". I've seen some of the 74-78's that have been modified and they look great - but me personally, I'd never buy one.

Vroom just offered me $37,170 when I tested the waters today. This is about the exact dollar with TTL I paid for the car brand new. I am really considering this now.

Today is $37,322.

At $37,322 my payment for the Mach 1 will only be about $70/mo more than I'm paying now.

I'm selling today to vroom for $31,600, FedEx papers are in the mail. I've waited a month and it has gone up $2,000. No sense in penny pinching, if I would have sold my car a year ago I would have only got $22,000.

My wife just sold her 2020 Hyundai Palisade to Carvana, they gave her $40,216, and she only paid $38,991 almost 2 years ago. Buh-Bye. I just checked Carvana's site. It is listed for $44,590, a full $4,700 over list MSRP price when new. Crazy!
