I got a Vroom quote for $41,000 for my 2019 PP1 GT with just under 18,000 miles. I paid less when I bought it used back in November, but that's not enough for me to consider selling.

My offer I just got from Vroom is more than $2K than I paid for the car new (with nothing down and including TTL) in Sept of '19.

I know buying one - the prices are inflated.....but I'm tempted to just take the money, pay off the small amount I owe on my '12 F150 FX4 (5.0 and only 63K miles) and drive it until prices bottom out.

The prices are crazy for sure...

So trade in/sell off prices are high - but how is it for a Buyer of one of those used cars when it comes to needing a loan? Is the bank going to lend out close to the current inflated value or are they still stuck on the depreciation to loan value, with higher APR%?

My wife just sold her 2020 Hyundai Palisade to Carvana, they gave her $40,216, and she only paid $38,991 almost 2 years ago. Buh-Bye. I just checked Carvana's site. It is listed for $44,590, a full $4,700 over list MSRP price when new. Crazy!
last week I looked at new Palisades, they only had 4 on the lot, base + $6k over MSRP
Premium model $8k over MSRP and Top Calligraphy Model $10k over MSRP.
I told them I wouldn't pay anything over MSRP and they said = NO DEAL, they can sell these 4 over market price and not sure when they are getting more.
Went to KIA, only 1 Telluride on the lot, base model with $4k over MSRP.
I bought a Sorento SX prestige for Sticker, but got $700 more than I wanted for my trade-in (2016 Nissan Rogue that had been in 2 accidents).
Dealers don't have inventory, new or used to match demand, same with Rental Car Companies.
I Know I still paid $1-2K more than I usually do on buying the Sorento, but times are a changin!

damn, 39700 from Vroom for '19 300A PP1 with disclosed wheel and suspension mods, 9000 miles, and Henrico County zip. Only 1000 under MSRP.

I guess I could put the 19x9 EB/PP wheels on her with the lightly used PS4S in 255/40. But then I'd have to drive the Camaro full time. Hmm, but now I'd have to look hard at buying a 600A Mach 1 with handling pack in bright yellow from Zack.

Cars will be high this year, Next year will go back to normal. Big discounts, low trad in values.

So I checked vroom last night and they offered 37,680 for my 17 GT vert with 12,900 miles.

Also the local dealer offered me enough to get out the lease free and clear on my explorer, the buy out is 33K and I still have 8 payments left. So I most likely I will have a 21 explorer ST as my DD by Monday morning.

2017 300a package Recaro seats, 26K miles, auto trans. Paid 29991 back in aug 2019. Carvana offer is 27852
WOW, this is crazy. just checked carvana again and now there offer is 31450! Thats almost what I paid o.t.d for my car back in august 2019
Vroom came in at 34600!!
Local dealer trade in from there website is 34100. They have a white mach-1 sitting there too. Auto-trans though!

Carmax is lowballing me at 30,000! :crackup: :crackup:

I spoke too soon. The dealers e-mail now says has to be appraised and could be between 30100 and 34100....

Coincidence on my username but on Vroom they said 9K for my base 16GT. flood damaged salvage cars with dents and unknown miles are hard to appraise. I laughed a good bit there.

I don't plan on selling but there was a big difference in Vroom & Carvana.

Vroom = $43497
Carvana = $37281
