What is the best motor oil to use in a new Ford Mustang GT 2020 PP1?

I use the ford stuff (motorcraft) and the ford racing oil filter, works well for me.

You will never get a straight answer on this as its an extremely opinionated question. One that has caused brutal fights and wars to be waged since the dawn of machinery.

I personally run Amsoil 5w30 in my car. Ford changed from 5W30 to 5W20 in the late 90's to help meet CAFE MPG fleet averages, I have no interest in eeking out another MPG from thinner oil.

I use the factory recommended oil and filter while the car is under warranty. After the warranty, I agree with offroadkarter that a higher hot viscosity is a good idea. Something like a 5W 50 for track days, for example. But I think that the frequency of oil changes and meeting the proper specs is more important than the brand of oil. Sure it's fine to use an expensive oil, but if you extend out your frequency of oil changes with the expensive oil, then that negates any advantage the expensive oil might gain you.

the long intervals are only valid if you’re driving a lot of miles per day and the mileage goes by quickly.

A good synthetic may last a little longer but Motorcraft is fine if you don’t wait too long between changes.

My car mostly sees summer like heat and very hard use, so I also run a thicker oil weight.

I had this very conversation with my tuner yesterday... he said run 5/30 at a min, but also said that he runs 10/30... full synthetic. FWIW.

What brand of oil is the best is like asking what kind of whiskey is the best?

First make sure that the oil you choose, at very least, meets the manufacturers specification. Then change it and the filter at the recommended interval. If the OLM indicates that change is needed before the recommended interval, change it. Doing this alone will protect the engine well.

If you feel the need for more or better protection do what you think will accomplish that as long as you are able to find data (Not advertising and marketing) that will actually back up your "feeling". It is possible to spend great amounts of money to this end and some of it may even provide the added protection. That is all on you. Changing the oil and filter regularly with quality products will do more to accomplish engine longevity more than any marketing or advertising program.

Finished my career selling lubricants (the last 17 years). I have my preferences, but I do not tell anyone that this or that brand is the be all or end all super lubricant because it will be used to lubricate the windshield wipers on the upcoming mars missions. Choose a good quality oil, change it regularly, along with the filter. And sleep well at night

The right brand for sure, we run 5m30, 20 just seems lightweight to me. Put it in first oil change, new car.

You can't go wrong with Castrol.
