I agree .....it just fuc** up the lines .
You're right, I don't like that at all. Honestly not crazy about the Sirius "bubble" on my car, but that fin is bad.

That antenna looks horrible in person.
I've been paying attention to the shark fins on other cars and BMW/Audi/Honda/Kia have the decency to put it as far back as they can up against the rear window so it doesn't sit so tall and obvious. I guess it was too much for Ford to actually try different locations or heaven forbid change the punch location of the hole to make it less ghastly.

If I was any good at photo shop I'd chop that car into the Jaws movie poster.

Shark fin antenna sucks.

It looks awful. I don't care if they call it 'industry standard' or whatnot, I simply hate the look of it.

I was in for an oil change last week and after reading this thread I did notice that most new Fords have that new style antenna - the F150, Edge, Ranger, Escape all the brand new cars on the floor had it. Must be Fords new standard part.

Yes, I saw a facelift Mondeo (Fusion) the other day in the showroom, and it had this hideous tumour on its head. My (non-facelift) Mondeo and my wife's Kuga (Escape) have no visible antennae; the radio antenna is embedded in the rear window defroster pattern, and the navigation one is hidden in the sensor box behind the rear view mirror. Nice and clean.
I wonder, can the old-style bubble be retrofitted? Are the holes in the roof the same? I suppose no one knows yet. We'll have to wait and see.

I'd gladly take a car that doesn't even have satellite radio as an option. Then there's no need for that weird antenna at all.

Back in 2005 I was in California for training in my new job. I rented the then new Sonata. Really nice car from a fairly unknown company at the time. Problem was this strange noise coming from the rear of the car every time I turned it on and off. It was driving me nuts. I asked a co-worker if he heard it and LHAO pointed to.........

Yeah, that thing coming out of the left side rear quarter panel. Ah, the good old days.

I remember that motorized antenna on my 95 Firebird. I never used the radio, so I just pulled the plug for the antenna and left it in the down position.

My 1980 280ZX has a switch to raise and lower the antenna to whatever height I want. But the band that controls the tuning knob is long broken, so I can only listen to radio static. So I just listen to the vroom vroom of the inline 6.

It wouldn't look so out of place on a truck, crossover, or SUV.

It just doesn't work with the fastback design of the Mustang.

Satellite radio should be an option on the Premium trim like it was on the earlier S197s.

My 2010 GT had the satellite antenna on the decklid and it at least was partially hidden by the spoiler.

The reason the Verts have two antennas is the Bump is sat and the mast is radio. The coupes radio antenna is in the back glass defroster grid.
