switching this weekend to E85 on the car, PBD flex tune is only for +18 gt, so.... in case that my pump (jacksonville, fl) doesn't have a full E85 blend but 50, 75, idk pick a number... what will happen? what to do in that scenario?

From my understanding, a strictly E85 tune should be ran with no less than E70. I’m sure others who don’t have consistent access to quality E85 can chime in though. Do you have the ability to be tuned for E70 if you’re not getting consistent quality fuel?

The car will run rich and could knock.

Not recommended although the 11-1 compression in the gen 2 is less sensitive to knock due to aggressive timing.

Rich and knock? I think you mean lean and knock. Usually a car will knock when lean, not rich. Unlesss somehow the fuel dynamics of E85 is different.

Yeah I'm not sure what was meant there but it will run rich and get richer the lower the ethanol content is.

I was told by Alex (Lund) stick to 75% + for the dedicated E85 tune.

My pump e85 varies a lot. Find your local Ignite dealer and get a barrel of E98. Test your pump e85 and add the amount of e98 to get your desired ethanol percentage. I have a barrel of E98 and I take another barrel and fill it up with the pump. Test and mix

How else do you look at it? Air fuel will be rich and timing will be to high for the octane. What happens?

Yea I guess if the AFR gets below 9:1. Sorry wasn't thinking that it could get that rich if below E70. Thats what makes it tough to run E85 I guess depending on the quality of where you get it. Here in Cali its pretty much always E85+.

hey bud, I’m also in Jax. Have you bought an E85 tester? I tested Gate gas station and it came in at 80, just an FYI.

i don't have a tester yet. So far my plan was using the gate station on atlantic blvd near the porsche dealership... but now, there is a new racetrac gas station right by kernan/atlantic and it looks they will have E85 too...

With temperatures here in FL, i don't think they will have winter blends, but you know... just in case...

I can always tune back to 93, but the idea is to run constant E85 without issues... I hate that PBD didn't have a flextune for 15-17gt :(

I have been running E70 on E85 tune for almost 2.5 years. What is the problem?

The station i used to use, that’s now closed, tested to e-90 every time. Next nearest station is 40 miles away. So I'm on pump 93 and octane booster.

same,E65-E70 is consistent out here in Vegas. I sent the logs, they said slightly rich but everything Is ok. I did get a e65 tune from Lund but I almost always run the e85r tune going on about the same 2.5 years now.

Lund tuned my 15 supercharged GT. I was told to do the shake test and don’t buy if it’s below 75. This was on a return style fuel system.

have you looked into another tuner? Torrie in St. Aug is solid and I believe a FF tune.. Doesn’t Lund? Shell on Parental and Beach bled used to have 100 octane, I used it in my Terminator back in the day

pbd has a flex tune for the 15-17, i know you need injectors but they do have one if you upgrade them
