Oil pump gears. They are the gears in your oil pump that force the oil through the engine. The OEM parts are made from powdered metal and are known to break when subjected to a combination of high rpm and high load, such as when running a centrifugal blower to 8k.

any sound clips of the quiet gear would be great.
This is the "quiet" gearset on my car.

Don't be fooled, you can't hear anything in the car and it makes very little noise. Warmup it's a bit louder though.

Nice write up man. I think when I bought my Procharger it couldn’t be ordered with direct cut gears (quiet gear) as a stage 2. I had it installed by the same shop that tuned, who also installed the OPG & CS (crank sprocket gears) the car makes 661 rwhp which is a handful and a lot of fun, but I think I would’ve preferred the idle whine to be quieter.

Also curious about the tune. I have an unlocked SCT tuner but the HP with Matrix seems like a major upgrade. I may sell the SCT (and a second locked SCT) to offset the cost. I need to call Lund and work out the pricing.

If you don't plan on going to the drag strip, then YOU DO NOT NEED a drag pack. I have larger tires on the back at 335/25 R20
/40 or /45 in R18 or R19 would seem to be a better size, no? Without resorting to R16 or smaller.
