I laugh at the $799 doc fee, what idiot will pay that?
20% off is no bargain, it will likely sit til it drops another $1,750.
Nice color but I literally hate those wheels.

every VA car buyer in northern virginia so about 1 million people (not every year), so maybe 250,000? And also a bunch from PA and other states.

If the buyer has any sense they bid the price $500+ lower to negate it.

That is a good idea.
In MN the State has rules "STEALERSHIPS" shall not have a doc fee over $100.

I bought my car in VA and only paid 300 bucks for processing.

I got them to match the price on a car listed in MD.

That $799 is 100% negotiable. You just need to do it right.

check your official sales paperwork. I'm fairly certain that once published the law requires them to charge the same fee on every (new) transaction regardless of model and person. They'd just knock $500 off from some other line item and net it out to $300.

No, I was charged 300. It was not knocked off another line item.

I got them to match the fee MD dealers charge.

There is no law that requires them to charge the same fee on new transactions.

hmm, looking for the rules. This is dated info but interesting.
http://www.realcartips.com/newcars/482-documentation-fees-by-state.shtml

2.3.5 Processing Fees You may decide to charge your customer a processing fee for obtaining title and license plates for the customer or other customer services. The processing fee charged by the dealer, if any, must be listed on the buyer’s order. In addition, the dealer must disclose the fee charged by placing a clear and conspicuous sign in the public area of the dealership. The sign shall be eight and one half inches by eleven inches (8 ½ x 11) and print no smaller than one-half inch. While not required, it might be useful to list on the sign the items covered by the processing fee. Any fee you charge is not required by DMV, and you must not represent it as such to your customer.

I keep looking for a good deal in Wisconsin for a 19 or 20 Premium GT. Dealers will not go below invoice. It’s invoice plus whatever rebates at the time. Frustrating

I haven't looked at premium trim GT's; however, there are multiple dealers in the MD/VA area that have multiple base model 19 GT's (both with the 301A package and and the 300A package) for at/around 8K off the MSRP. I would imagine a premium GT's discounted price from the MSRP would be similar. If you are willing to drive, search for a premium GT in the MD/VA area...odds are there are a few left over 19 premium GT's that are being heavily discounted.

I had the same results in WI.
Do a search on cars.com and look at what's in MN, I got 24.8% off at the end of Dec 2019; WI dealers wouldn't deal much at all with Bergstrom being completely useless.
