I only ever used 95 in my 2017 GT, however since getting my 2021 GT from new - i thought i would try using 99.

I started off with Tesco Momentum, which i have read good things about, and is a good bit cheaper than V power.

However i just tried a tank of V-power, and i swear it picks up better at low RPM and feels smoother?
I guess it could be placebo effect.

What do you guys use?

I only use 99 mostly vpower until it jumped up 20p a litre in about a month. On momentum now. Using vpower it pulls better in 6th from 60 than regular 95. Takes a few tanks for the timing to adjust i believe.

I use V-Power, will it be affected by the move to E10 ?

I like that E in my Stang. It burns cleaner, cooler and helps make more power.

yeah SUL all the way, if i had zero fuel and only 95RON then fine would put enough in to get to next garage.
Likewise i understand E10 only for unleaded 95RON

Super unleaded is remaining at E5 but the E10 stuff would work ok in the S550's, just don't leave it sat in the tank for long periods of time or it'll absorb water.

Shell V-Power here, definitely runs better. I only bung in 95 when I have to.

Since Shell launched Optimax (now V-Power) I haven't used anything else in my cars - so I now have one on V-Power diesel and one on V-Power petrol.

Only car in my household that gets anything other than V-Power is my other half's Picanto, that 66bhp of turbocharged madness doesn't need any special fuel to kick arse ... :cwl:

I'm kind of keen to try this. I live literally opposite a shell garage so seems rude not to!

I've only ever used regular, and I'm 32K+ miles in. Not doing so much driving these days so may go for vpower on my next full tank, and report back.

Esso Synergy Supreme 99RON is ethanol free except in Devon, Cornwall and Scotland / NW England. It is labelled E5 on the pump still.

You need a few tanks of higher octane fuel for the ECU to make the most of it

You'll need to give it a few tanks to run out the old stuff and let the map switch to the new fuel. I find the biggest noticeable difference is not going from 95RON to 99RON but running 99 for several tanks then going back to 95.

According to the dash read out my fuel economy has also improved with 99RON which negates some of the cost increase. Even then it's only an extra ÂŁ1/100 miles or something to run 99RON.
