What do you think about GT/Ecoboost/V6 Mustangs with stripes? Poseurish? Tacky?

I like stripes but there are some colors like velocity blue that I think look better without them. I have a white car, which I think looks too "plain Jane" without stripes or black accents, so I went with stripes.

I've never been concerned that someone would think stripes should only be on Shelbys. I see a lot of GTs with stripes so I guess I'm not alone. Mine are wider than GT350 stripes, too.

Doooooeeeeettttt!!!!

If it was my car (I love blue) I would do the white stripes AND wheels then proceed to drive the balls off of it.

My car is a base 2020 GT. I've done a ton of mods (by my standards) since buying it, nearly making it a PP2 minus the Magneride...visually, it's pretty tame with dark wheels and OEM only spoilers, etc.

So I really like the optional "racing stripes" and I have only ever seen ONE car in person with that option. The asymmetrical design really catches my eye...and the fact that they are a factory option makes them slightly less wild. I'm seriously thinking about buying a set and installing them myself...I just really enjoy looking at them.

I just don't quite have a sense for how the come off to outside observers...and I'm not going to lie and say that it's not a factor in my decision. :)

First, do stripes belong on a non-"special" Mustang? My dad has a Shelby GT500 and they absolutely belong on that car...but on a base GT? Seems like it might come off as trying too hard??

To this point, stripes or anything "flashy" has never been my style. I don't need to be noticed, I don't crave attention. I don't hate it, I just don't need it. This is one of those mods that makes a statement, I'm really not sure what that statement is to everyone else....so any input is appreciated in helping with this decision!

I personally don't think stripes belong on any Mustang. I believe it's cheeses it up and cheapens the brand, but others dig it. All up to you brother. I think your Mustang looks kick ass as is.

My need for green PP2 looks better with the black PP2 stripes IMO. Entire car is not black and green and looks really good.

My GT is a convertible so that changes things a little, plus Iā€™m over 70 so thereā€™s that. But having said that, I like ā€˜em. My only suggestion is to try to mimic a factory stripe, maybe like a Shelby.
Wondee whT small side stripes would look like

Completely your choice. Personally, I think Mustangs can look fabulous with or without stripes. Itā€™s that type of car. For me though, if I went for a stripe it would always be more of a subtle one.

MRGTX,

" First, do stripes belong on a non-"special" Mustang? "

ALL Mustangs are special and the most special one on the road is YOURS!

Personally I think your Mustang with that great blue color (what's it called?) begs for those stripes you showed in your picture and if I saw it and had a chance to talk to you I'd be certain to compliment you even if it was an EcoBoost.

Trust me... Most people that don't have their head up their rear cavity will drool over that look and will wish they had one just like it.

Suit yourself and rest assured most people will LOVE that look!

GO FOR IT!

Stripes (especially vinyl decals) have got to go. Tacky and dated.

People can do what they want. For me, racing stripes should be limited to Shelbys. Hockey sticks should be limited to Bosses.

There have always been other tape and trim packages you can mimic if you want. For my EB I'm thinking about one of those cool Mustang II King Cobra hood graphics.

Mustangs look good with or without stripes.

Itā€™s YOUR car, so make it look and feel how YOU want it.

Stripes are a toss-up for me. I've never been a huge fan of overly obnoxious ones, and prefer the more subtle options.

My '15 has hood stripes that were a Ford Accessory and Big Worm rocker stripes, both in satin black. On Magnetic, they disappear at some angles and lighting and stand out in others

Javelin stripes went on with absolutely no trouble. I went off label a bit with the rear fender stripes, in an attempt to emulate the RTR placement.

Snapped these pics before I had a chance to wash the car. Probably should let the stripes sit for a while anyway.

The kit was excellent qualityā€¦Iā€™m not sure if I love the look or not.

I added them. Thought the car looked too plain without.
