An exciting upgrade just landed, a nice black friday deal (15% off).
My metrovac died a while back and research led me to this. More punch than the metrovac, which only had enough oomph for the wheels. This bigboi should be good for all tasks!

That one is for the weekend. I'm more excited about the bottle of Bourbon just behind the box - Bulleit. Had a bottle last year and enjoyed it, good deals on alcohol this time of year. just getting the stock for the Christmas break!

So,

Phase two finished.

Wheels, paintwork and detail done. Also went with a mat black stripe and a boot-lip spoiler.

Some pictures from picking the beastie up this morning..

I'm very pleased with how its turned out. Initially was on the fence about the stripe, but it looks great!

Now the rear splitter has been colour matched it looks part of the car. Just a couple of small jobs to do, then she's done.. for now..

Cheers

Got a good amount of time off over Christmas, gearing up to give it a good wash. Definitely needs one!

Washed it! (Yesterday)
It was a race against the daylight, but i managed to wash, clay the paint and protected with a spray sealant, gloss levels are amazing! Not the best photo, but it’s all i have

on a sad note, i noticed some bubbling of the paint on the bonnet

Recently discovered the CHMSL (Centre, high mounted, stop light) is leaking water into the boot/trunk and into the void in the rear quarter, between the rear of the rear wheel arch and the rear bumper.
Therefore, especially as it's currently the UK monsoon season, check you do not have a small swimming pool in your N/S rear quarter, courtesy of the CHMSL.
The N/S boot trim is mostly fixed with magnets, so easy enough to pull back and check to see if the panels are wet.
Currently driving around with a recepticle wedged between the bodyside inner and the boot trim, to catch the water, while I wait for a new CHMSL to arrive, from Germany!
Ford Mustang life!

Another black mark against Ford for mounting the CHMSL on the exterior with only a thin, adhesive foam gasket to seal the body to prevent water ingress.

Oh, and don't get me started on the O/S rear brake caliper.
I need a replacement although apparently there are none on planet Earth!

The centre rear brake light may give you pain unless you have a convertible.

They are held on with 4 captive bolts and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they spin when you try to undo them. Access is also very limited behind the roof lining whilst jammed in the rear of the car. Refitting will be a 2 person job with one outside holding it in place and the other inside tightening the very small nuts.

You may need to get a larger swear box!

Can't help on the light, that's another shocker for quality control. I'd heard the main UK warehouse for ford had discovered asbestos in it so literally no stock in the UK but that was back in September when I needed a new dipstick holder and everything was coming from Germany. Minimum 10day wait.

Brake calipers, rockauto ftw
