Went to GT101 again today for my seven year service and MOT.
Did have to splash out on a new battery but with the original nearly seven years old I can’t complain.
Still no brake replacement yet(51814 miles).
Great service as always from David,Lee and the team. They always give good advice and never do unecessary work so I trust them completely .
They aren’t local (286 miles away)but its worth the trip apart from encountering the HGV knights of the road on the A14 taking 10mins to pass another truck going 5mph slower.

Oh yes and if you can’t afford a Ford GT they have half of one in the showroom see pic

Wavetrac and GT350 half shafts installed today at GT101.

The wavetrac feels lovely. Before you'd feel like you had control of a slide then suddenly the behaviour would change, but with this they're just so smooth and controllable.

I've got a tiny amount of rotating metallic whining or something with the windows down above 40, but that's fine.

I couldn't believe how much slop was in my diff before. It made the car horrible to drive, was just jolting all over the place. Now it feels tight from front to back.

They also found the cause of the horrible rear creaking, the Steeda subframe bush spacer had worn through the rubber and was hitting/rubbing the subframe (I think!), so they removed that. Noise all gone now. Weird for an aftermarket upgraded part to fail like that. They said the BMR kit was a better design.

sounds a great result all in. Mine is away for a boring service, 7yr one and 5-30 oil getting chucked into it.

anyone know the AC and the main serpentine belt part numbers? It appears I have no AC belt and the serpentine belt is looking a bit worn and recommended replacement . Sigh

edit:
think the alternator / water pump belt is 6 Rib Multi V Drive Belt 6PK1715 Gates 11288573253 FR3Z8620B
AC belt is 6PK851 ?

I've often thought about a Wavetrac. Seems like a great piece of kit, although seems like not as popular as other rear diffs. Keep us updated as you drive more. Remind me, are you NA or boosted?

Yeah, they seem popular on Golfs, and I've seen good feedback on them for other cars. I heard them described as like a Quaife ATB, which having had a BMW before seemed like the go-to.

I'm supercharged, so putting some torque through the diff (I'm guessing leading to the premature wear on the standard one).

updated SYNC 3 to whatever Ford was giving out, worked first time (a first in itself) noticed zero difference but i'm sure something has changed. AC belt and alternator belt received so they are getting fitted Thursday, hopefully the correct belts and hopefully no fitting issues...

Thinking of doing an exhaust mod and have come down to either Borla S type axle backs or flowmasters outlaw. Reading online it looks like flowmasters are louder but more drone. Has anyone got them in UK?
Bearing in mind the car already got H-pipe and not planning to change that.
Also, want to keep the valve system so the Roush option does not work.

I prefer to go with the louder option and then manage the noise with the valves to some degree

Just be aware of drive by noise regulations and modified exhausts.

just been driving it. Amazing what a difference since the cam issue was sorted, don't need so many revs pulling away from a stop, no stumbling engine on gear changes, just all round generally smoother and response like a big V8 should have. How i put up with that issue for a year is beyond me, esp when that leaking tensioner could have caused bigger issues is the chain had slipped a tooth or tooth ££££££££££££££

Hi All,

Been a while since I've posted about the missus' car, so here we go..

Mrs. Funster declared that the Mustang needs an update, so your wish, my command (and to keep the peace) we decided on a few options and a bit of a strategy.

Part 1: Exhaust. She (and I) have never really been a fan of the standard pipes So..

Mustang 1.jpg

Went with the Ford Performance 'Mach 1 upgrade' kit from Nemesis, which comes with everything needed to fit the exhaust, Including a new rear valence /diffuser/splitter. The photo above is at the 'nearly complete' stage, where we were playing with the brackets to get the hanging level right. Photo below is where we left it for now, although it's all got to come off again for the valence to be body colour matched (next week). Those end pipes are huge, and I can confirm they will swallow a tennis ball with ease - bizarre playing with dog incident, had the pipes stood upright in the sitting room, bounced ball for dog, Dog botches the catch and bounces it off his snout, ball performs a graceful arc straight into end pipe.. one in a million...

Mustang2.jpg

Really easy to fit, partly because I have access to a full (and warm) workshop, but also due to the comprehensive instructions that can be downloaded from Ford. The sound, I'd say, is slightly deeper than stock and very nice looking (IMO)..

Next (Part 2) will be the wheels. Was going to go for the 'Birds Nest' but went with the Wolfrace Munich GTR Black Edition instead and although not to dis-similar from the standard wheels, have a nice offset which fills the arch.

Part 3 means it will be going into a local bodywork place to have the stone chips sorted, as well as a ceramic coat and detail, as well as another couple of bits and pieces.

That'll do for now, I'll keep this thread updated with progress (If you want..)

Cheers

haha damned dogs eh ? Bet that incident raised a laugh for sure. I presume the car is a facelift model ? Rear end looks great. It's amazing how Ford couldnt get most (any) of the panel gaps even but could fit a fully welded exhaust that fitted / lined up pretty much perfectly. Strange how that is.

The dog incident I went through three stages of emotion; First LOL! (Joy), then Wow! (Amazement) quickly followed by OMG hope I can get that out.. (Panic)

Correct, car is a 2019 Facelift, with a few mods to keep it 'subtle' :) Here's a cheeky pick after phase 1 was done.
